For years, “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” was treated like the Holy Trinity of corporate America. It became a moral shield and marketing tool rolled into one. But thanks to President Trump, the house of cards is falling. Even NBC News, one of the proudest preachers of the DEI gospel, just gutted its program and fired around 150 employees tied to “race-based” reporting initiatives.

It’s a shocking move for a network that helped mainstream DEI culture, but it also proves that Trump’s call to end this charity-driven movement and return to merit-based excellence is hitting its mark. The left may not want to admit it, but the DEI empire is starting to crumble.

As it should. The problem with DEI was never about wanting fair opportunity; it was about normalizing unfair advantages. What supposedly started as a push for “inclusion” turned into a game of identity quotas and lowered standards. That kind of social engineering might fly at Disney or Cracker Barrel, but when it seeps into industries like airlines or medicine, people’s lives are on the line, and that’s a whole different beast.

But make no mistake, DEI isn’t going off into the sunset quietly.

An undercover investigation by Accuracy in Media exposed Raleigh, North Carolina, city official Briana Scurry secretly continuing DEI initiatives despite Trump’s executive orders. Scurry was caught admitting multiple city departments were hiding DEI work under other names.

Libs of TikTok:

MUST WATCH: Undercover investigation by @AccuracyInMedia EXPOSES city official from Raleigh, NC, for SECRETLY pushing DEI initiatives despite Trump’s EOs.

Briana Scurry, the Assistant. Director of Economic and Social Advancement, who introduced herself privately as the “Assistant Director for Equity and Inclusion,” ADMITS that multiple city departments are hiding their DEI initiatives.

“We don’t want to draw attention to ourselves… we want to make sure this work is as protected as possible… We do partner oftentimes with [the Dept. of] Community Engagement.”

The City of Raleigh needs to be investigated immediately.

That’s how deep DEI runs… even local bureaucrats are scrambling to keep it alive behind closed doors. But the public mood has shifted. The more these programs hide, the more people want them gone.

Which leads us to the NBC News report. As we mentioned earlier, around 150 employees involved in its diversity-focused coverage were given the boot. This move marks one of the largest DEI pullbacks in the media world so far, and it also means there’s a broader industry trend on the horizon. NBC went from bragging about their “race and equity” teams to dissolving them.

The Wrap:

NBC News eliminated its teams dedicated to covering issues affecting Black, Asian American, Latino and LGBTQ+ groups as part of its layoffs of about 150 staffers on Wednesday, according to two sources familiar with the matter, a significant culling as the Peacock network separates from its sister news network, MSNBC.

The cuts mean that the verticals NBC BLK, NBC Asian America, NBC Latino and NBC OUT will no longer have dedicated teams bolstering their coverage. The verticals will continue to publish stories related to the specific groups and NBC News may ultimately retain up to five staffers who will contribute coverage on the verticals to the newsroom, according to one source, as the dedicated teams focused exclusively on these verticals are sunset.

The total reductions, which affected NBC News’ entire news operation, make up about 7% of NBC News’ newsroom of about 2,000 staffers and 2% of the wider NBCU News Group, which includes Telemundo and the network’s owned-and-operated local news stations.

For a network like NBC, this isn’t just a staffing cut; it’s a cultural shift. Corporate America is realizing that DEI isn’t delivering on its promises. When diversity becomes the national religion, excellence takes a huge hit, and Americans notice.

But NBC isn’t alone. Gannett removed all mentions of “diversity” from its corporate site, Disney rebranded its DEI program to “Opportunity & Inclusion” (which isn’t much better), and the FCC has begun probing Comcast’s internal DEI structure. What started as a political movement has turned into a legal and financial liability for these corporations. The Wrap piece goes on:

The layoffs also reflect the media industry’s larger retreat from efforts focused on diversity, equity and inclusion. Gannett, the nation’s largest newspaper chain, removed mentions of diversity from its website in April and said it would stop publishing demographic data on its website.

Disney also rebranded its internal DEI efforts last week to “Opportunity & Inclusion,” according to Puck. NBC and its parent company, Comcast, have also come under federal scrutiny for their diversity-focused efforts. Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Carr sent a letter to Comcast in February saying he would investigate the company for its promotion of DEI, alleging the company has “executives specifically dedicated to promoting DEI across the TV and programming side of the business.”

Thankfully, President Trump’s message is landing. DEI isn’t collapsing because of cruelty; it’s collapsing because it doesn’t work. It divides instead of unites and pushes optics over outcomes. It also undermines the very people it claims to uplift.

DEI isn’t just unfair to consumers who don’t get the best of the best; it’s also unfair to the recipients. A lot of times they’re handed positions they’re not prepared for and set up to fail… and then discarded when they’re no longer needed. That’s exactly what the Biden regime did with two of its top DEI hires.

Revolver:

Just like Kamala Harris, KJP didn’t rise to power on merit, skill, or earned respect. She was boosted because of identity, race, and gender, among other things. Actually, that was the skill section of both their resumes. And because these two mediocre women were gifted high-profile positions that they weren’t equipped for, their inevitable fall was public, painful, and brutal.

That’s the hidden cruelty of DEI. It hands out titles instead of earning them and pretends that identity is a substitute for competence. But reality always catches up. Sooner or later, the façade cracks, the piper shows up for payment, and everything collapses under the weight of the big DEI lie.

They said DEI was supposed to make America fairer. Hogwash. Instead, it made everything slower, weaker, and more divided. The left can spin it however they want, but when NBC News, the network that helped build the progressive DEI altar, starts tearing down its own shrine, it’s a sign the country is finally waking up.
