Leave it to President Trump to take one of Biden’s disastrous immigration policies and flip it into a weapon against illegal invasion.
The Biden regime’s “CBP One app” was basically a free pass for illegals. It allowed hundreds of thousands to waltz right into the US under the guise of so-called “border management.” More like border chaos.”

However, now, under Trump’s leadership, that same app has been flipped and repurposed into “CBP Home”—a self-deportation tool designed to make it easier (and cheaper) for illegals to pack up and leave the country on their own.
The new app launches today and will auto-update for anyone who used CBP One. It lets illegals register their departure, submit photos, and provide details on where they plan to go. So, you’re probably wondering—why on earth would they leave voluntarily?
Well, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem put it bluntly—illegals now have a choice: leave now and maybe return legally one day, or stay and get deported forever. It’s a perfect example of flipping a problem into a solution—using the same tech the left exploited for open borders to now restore order to our immigration system.

Fox News landed this exclusive, and Bill Melugin took to X to share more details.
SCOOP: The Trump admin has repurposed the controversial Biden era CBP One cell phone app into a self deportation app called CBP Home that launches today. DHS tells me any migrants who had the prior CBP One app will have it auto update to this new app, & DHS can use data from prior CBP One registrations to track migrants for removal.
The new app allows illegal aliens and migrants in the US to register with CBP to self deport. They fill out biographical information, including their countries of citizenship, which country they plan to return to, their alien registration numbers, contact information, and it allows them to upload photos of themselves to confirm their identity. All of it is then submitted to CBP, and they leave the country.
You may be asking yourself – why would an illegal alien want to self deport?
In a statement to FOX News – DHS Secretary Kristi Noem answers that question.
“The CBP Home app gives aliens to option to leave now and self-deport, so they may still have the opportunity to return legally in the future and live the American dream. If they don’t, we will find them, we will deport them, and they will never return,” Noem said. “The Biden administration exploited the CBP One app to allow more than one million aliens to enter the United States. With the launching of the CBP Home app, we are restoring integrity to our immigration system.”
DHS says it is significantly cheaper for the US if illegal aliens decide to self deport, and limited ICE resources can instead be used to target criminal aliens.
According to CBP data, roughly 40-50 thousand migrants were entering the US every month via the CBP One app during the Biden administration, totaling nearly one million by the end of his presidency.
Trump terminated the program on day one of his presidency, leading to scenes of migrants crying at the border when they realized their appointments had been cancelled.
The Trump admin has essentially hijacked the Biden admin program, a key pillar of his immigration policy, and has repurposed it for opposite effect.

This is great news and a smart way for the Trump admin to turn a negative into a positive. Let’s hope it works—time will tell as the self-deportation numbers start rolling in.
EXCLUSIVE: The Trump administration is rolling out a new app to replace the controversial CBP One app with the new replacement designed to facilitate the self-deportation of illegal immigrants.
The Department of Homeland Security is announcing the CBP Home app — which will launch with a self-deportation reporting feature for those in the country illegally.
It replaces the CBP One app, which was expanded by the Biden administration to allow migrants to schedule appointments at ports of entry to be paroled into the U.S. Hundreds of thousands were paroled into the U.S. as a result. The Trump administration has ended the ability to use the app for that purpose.
All CBP One apps will update to the new CBP Home app.

DHS is also pushing a marketing message to illegal migrants: do yourself a favor and leave on your own before you get caught. It’s an all-out effort to ease the burden on ICE and the American taxpayer—because cleaning up Joe Biden’s mess is very costly, and it’s draining the country in more ways than one.
And speaking of DHS and ICE, Secretary Noem just announced that they’ve identified the leakers who were tipping off ICE raids—and they’ll be facing prosecution.

Let’s hope Trump’s plan to push self-deportations actually works. It’s definitely a creative idea, but let’s see if these criminals—who had no problem breaking our nation’s laws in the first place—suddenly have a change of heart and decide to do the right thing.
