This probably won’t surprise anyone, but the spineless GOP is once again slow-walking an investigation they pretended to care about. And no, we’re not talking about the Epstein files—though we’d love to see those, too (but that’s for another blog). This time, it’s all about January 6th and the GOP’s latest effort to foot-drag out Rep. Loudermilk’s J6 Committee investigation.

Investigative reporter Julie Kelly is all over this issue, calling attention to the GOP foot-dragging on X:
They haven’t even formed a subcommittee as of yet. Why?
Rep. Barry Loudermilk is eager to make his next move on Jan. 6, 2021. After leading a reinvestigation of the storming of the Capitol during the last Congress, the Georgia Republican had high hopes for the 119th.
With the support of Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., he pushed to deepen his probe. In January, Johnson announced that Loudermilk would lead a new select subcommittee housed within the House Judiciary panel to “uncover the full truth that is owed to the American people.”
But more than a month later, that select subcommittee has not officially been formed.
So, even though Rep. Loudermilk uncovered a slew of shady—and possibly illegal—moves, our GOP-run Congress still isn’t in a hurry to get to the bottom of it. The Roll Call piece goes on:
“I expected it at any time. So I guess you need to talk to the speaker’s office,” Loudermilk said Thursday. “We’re burning daylight here. And there’s a lot we need to be working on already. They say they’re going to do it, we just need to get it done.”
Loudermilk’s splashiest undertaking so far was releasing security footage of the attack to the public. As chair of the now-defunct House Administration Subcommittee on Oversight, he worked to undermine the narrative laid out by the Democrat-led select committee previously tasked with investigating Jan. 6, which found that Donald Trump had spurred on his violent supporters in an effort to overturn the 2020 election results.
Loudermilk’s final report, published in December, recommended that former Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., who served as the Jan. 6 select committee’s vice chair, should be investigated by the FBI for her handling of witnesses.
Democrats vociferously criticized his probe, characterizing it as an effort to clear Trump’s name and whitewash the attack on the Capitol.
“Like criminals returning to the scene of the crime, they can’t stop talking about Jan. 6,” Rep. Jamie Raskin of Maryland, the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, said Thursday.
So while Loudermilk is ready to get things moving, the GOP isn’t. But hey, at least Biden was quick to hand out a blanket pardon, right? That old, senile fool is really on top of things. Roll Call continues:
But eager as Loudermilk is to carry on this Congress, the effort so far has failed to get off the ground.
In order to establish a select subcommittee, the House must first adopt a resolution. No such resolution has been introduced, leaving Loudermilk’s subcommittee in limbo.
Republican leaders have not announced a roster for the select subcommittee and have not provided an update on when a resolution might be introduced or voted on. The speaker’s office declined to comment.
In his announcement in January, days after Trump gave sweeping pardons to Jan. 6 rioters, Johnson had struck an urgent tone.
The reason we say all of this foot-dragging shouldn’t be a surprise is because our elected officials have been pretending to care and act outraged for years now. Yet, look at what’s been happening right under their watch: destruction of evidence, for starters.

Many Americans saw this clip years ago and are still wondering—where are the obstruction of justice charges?
After all, we had grandparents wandering the halls of Congress like polite little tourists, only to have the kitchen sink thrown at them and their lives dismantled by the FBI and Biden’s tyrannical DOJ. Meanwhile, those destroying evidence are still collecting a taxpayer-funded paycheck.
Let freedom ring, right?

So, two years ago, Loudermilk confirmed that all depositions from the original January 6 Select Committee investigation are gone. And nobody has been charged or even called out.
Nothing…

Investigative reporter Laura Loomer called this “stall game” years ago. Like many Americans, she saw the cover-up writing on the wall. She also pointed out that Revolver had already exposed these so-called “new” facts years ago.
Republicans are so pathetic. It’s no wonder why they constantly get defeated by Democrats and do nothing to stop election fraud.
They have known for 3 years that the J6 committee was corrupt as hell. And now they all want to pretend like today is the first time they have ever seen video footage of Capitol police letting J6ers inside the building, when we have known about these tapes for 3 years. Many of these tapes were released by J6ers who took video on their own phones and cameras, and people like @RevolverNewsUSA published it years ago….
Oh and by the way, House Republicans were notified about these videos and chose to do nothing because they want to demonize Trump and his supporters.
The only reason why they are now saying they want to investigate the J6 committee they always knew was corrupt is because the weak Speaker of the House @SpeakerJohnson caved on the CR, he’s sending more money to Ukraine, and he failed to allocate money for the border while allowing House GOP to send $300 million more to the FBI, which is carrying out raids on Trump supporters everyday.
Johnson is walking on a tight leash because he lied and said he wouldn’t support a CR, and then he caved to the CR. Now he’s trying to cover his ass and make his actions seem bigger than they actually are.
Don’t fall for this bullshit. The footage of the police letting J6ers inside and fist bumping them has been out for 3 years. The GOP gives you crumbs and all of you just lay over like dogs with fleas and accept this insult to our intelligence.
It’s so pathetic. House GOP knew the J6 committee was corrupt from day one when people like
@Liz_Cheney and @RepRaskin were put in control of it.Screw the @HouseGOP. They are a bunch of gaslighting cowards.
Dems and Republicans throw the American people recycled crumbs and think we’re dumb enough not to notice.

At the end of the day, it’s the same old story—Dems work overtime to protect their own, and the GOP drags its feet and protects the Dems, too.
We can’t let that happen this time around.
The truth about January 6th is right there, waiting to be exposed—but it won’t happen unless we force these GOP officials to do the job we elected them, and President Trump, to do: get to the bottom of the fraud, abuse, and hoaxes, no matter how bad it makes the US government look. The best way to do that is to keep exposing their foot-dragging, call them out by name, and demand answers. This is where the power of “We the People” and social media works to our advantage. We have political weapons too—so let’s use them.
