We have arrived at a moment when “the worst are filled with passionate intensity” and the supposed best lack all conviction and courage. There’s no real conviction among a lot of our so-called leaders on the Right. Sure, they chase the ephemeral things like money and power—but they are hollow men and women who have been weighed in the balance and found wanting.
