The great President Ronald Reagan once made famous the saying, “Trust, but verify.” For today’s mainstream conservatives, the new slogan appears to be “Join the mob in a rush to condemn.”
This time, neocons Ben Shapiro and Nikki Haley rushed to the front of the line to condemn the “noose” supposedly found in Bubba Wallace’s garage, despite the fact that no investigation had taken place and nothing was ever verified.

Here’s Nikki Haley getting ratioed very badly:
We should all stand with @BubbaWallace today against the cowards who secretly put the noose in his garage stall. Watch your back cowards. Bubba has a bigger army than you do. #HateWontWin #WeStandWithBubba

“Getting ratioed” is a twitter term for when you have many more times the number of replies as retweets, indicating that your post probably is receiving a high level of objection or ridicule.
The “noose” hoax was completely and totally debunked by the FBI in an official statement from the Department of Justice.
βOn Monday, fifteen FBI special agents conducted numerous interviews regarding the situation at Talladega Superspeedway. After a thorough review of the facts and evidence surrounding this event, we have concluded that no federal crime was committed.
The FBI learned that garage number 4, where the noose was found, was assigned to Bubba Wallace last week. The investigation also revealed evidence, including authentic video confirmed by NASCAR, that the noose found in garage number 4 was in that garage as early as October 2019. Although the noose is now known to have been in garage number 4 in 2019, nobody could have known Mr. Wallace would be assigned to garage number 4 last week.
The decision not to pursue federal charges is proper after reviewing all available facts and all applicable federal laws. We offer our thanks to NASCAR, Mr. Wallace, and everyone who cooperated with this investigation.β [Department of Justice]
We don’t fault Bubba Wallace for falling for this hoax. But politicians and commentators, especially those on the right, should know a lot better. Hopefully, they are just gullible and acting in good faith, and not trying to use these hoaxes to their political advantage by currying favor with the mob.
Popular neoconservative account “@neontaster” also fell for the hoas.
"Wow. I can't believe I got conned into believing another race hoax. Shame on Bubba for duping me" https://t.co/2EgzWipA3Z

Many mainstream conservatives either do not stand for truth or justice, or they are completely gullible. Fanning the flames of racial enmity with a race hoax is extremely dangerous, and yet Ben Shapiro and Nikki Haley do not have the judgment or the prudence to resist jumping on the bandwagon of these types of hoaxes.
without any evidence, Nikki Haley and attorney Ben Shapiro believed the Bubba Wallace noose hoax. These people are reprobates. pic.twitter.com/3VIae2ace0

Nikki Haley does not have the judgment to stand for president as the Republican candidate in 2024.
If you wonder why I block everyone who unironically suggest Nikki Haley for VP or any position, read no further than he tweet spreading a hate crime hoax. https://t.co/0k9o3fRTay
