Sen. Tim Scott has spent years carefully building this image as a friendly, non-threatening Republican who gets along with everyone. He smiles, keeps his tone upbeat, and rarely picks a fight (unless it’s on behalf of George Floyd). That approach might work for cable news interviews, but it doesn’t work when you’re supposed to be running one of the most important political operations in the country.

Right now, Tim Scott is in charge of the National Republican Senatorial Committee. That job has one very important responsibility. Tim is in charge of recruiting strong candidates, raising lots of money, organizing high-level strategy, and helping Republicans win Senate races.

It’s a huge, very important job, and Tim’s blowing it.

According to a new report, insiders are starting to wonder if Scott is up for this job.

Instead of running a tight ship, with disciplined campaign operations and preparing for major midterm battles ahead, insiders say the whole thing is a disorganized, poorly run mess.

Honestly, it’s not surprising to anybody who’s paid close attention to the rise of Tim Scott. Based on his record, one could wonder if he’s the GOP DEI senator.

Tim Scott isn’t a leader. He’s just another establishment politician trying to keep everybody comfortable, and it’s blowing up in his face, and the American people will be the ones to suffer most if we lose the midterms.

And the mood inside the committee is reportedly going so incredibly sideways that many Republicans are baffled at the failure.

NOTUS:

For Sen. Tim Scott’s birthday last year, the executive director of Senate Republicans’ campaign arm, Jennifer DeCasper, required all of her staff to take time off work and board a rented bus.

They were going to surprise Scott, the organization’s chairman, at the airport.

Look, we get it, everybody likes a birthday celebration. Nobody’s saying staffers can’t have fun.

But when the political group responsible for winning Senate seats starts looking like a party planning committee, not a midterm fighting machine, people are going to get worried.

The video quickly started making the rounds with GOP insiders.

NOTUS:

The video, which was widely circulated and ridiculed among GOP senators and consultants, is indicative of what Republicans believe this year’s National Republican Senatorial Committee has become: unserious.

“Unserious” yikes. That’s the kiss of death word in politics.

Campaign committees are in place for one reason, and that’s to win elections. When senators and consultants start describing the operation as “unserious,” that’s a huge red flag.

And according to many sources, the concern goes way beyond one awkward video.

NOTUS:

NOTUS talked with over a dozen Senate GOP aides, strategists and other sources with knowledge of the NRSC. They described an organization that has devolved into dysfunction. Both senators and the White House are growing more incensed with the campaign arm by the day, the sources say.

When the frustration bubbles up in the Senate and actually reaches the White House, there’s a big problem.

That kind of irritation doesn’t just pop up because of a party. There’s a lot more brewing here.

And here’s where things start getting real. Some Republicans say the problem is Tim Scott.

NOTUS:

Senate Republicans and campaign consultants say they don’t think Scott is taking his job seriously, either, sources said.

Unlike NRSC chairs in previous cycles, Scott doesn’t make candidate-recruitment visits or fundraising calls, instead leaving those responsibilities to others on the committee.

Recruiting candidates and raising money aren’t “optional tasks” for someone running a national campaign committee. Those two things are the entire job. But if this article is right, Scott isn’t doing much of either.

The confusion and frustration also go back to Scott’s messaging about key races.

NOTUS:

Republicans say they’ve also been baffled by Scott’s messaging on winnable races. They believe the chairman is ‘injecting pessimism with donors,’ as one source put it, when it comes to what many view as the party’s best pick-up opportunity: Georgia.

Donors want confidence, not doomsday nonsense.

One veteran Republican strategist didn’t sugarcoat things.

NOTUS:

I have never seen so much rank incompetence, in just mind-boggling fashion,” said the veteran Republican strategist in communication with the committee. “They’re woefully unprepared for what is coming down the pike.

That is scary to hear. Especially in a must-win situation. Is Tim Scott inept, or purposely dropping the ball?

Honestly, none of this should shock anyone who’s been paying attention.

Revolver has been raising concerns about Tim Scott for years.

Back during the 2024 primary, when Scott’s name was floating around as a possible vice-presidential pick, we laid out exactly why that was a really bad idea.

Revolver:

President Trump reportedly has a very short veep list, and at the top is Senator Tim Scott—a politician who has never truly embraced the America First, Make America Great Again movement. He’s tried to ride the fence, offering occasional support here and there—he’s not downright awful, but his support always feels conditional and without any real passion or purpose. So, the question now is, did Tim Scott just disqualify himself as a possible VP with his latest appearance on ABC News? Many say yes and hope this marks the end of the tiresome “Scott hype.”

So, what happened? Well, Tim Scott is doing what he does best—being a wishy-washy establishment shill. Truthfully, being a member of the GOP swamp is all he knows, and no amount of backtracking or sidestepping now will change that. So, when Tim went on ABC News and stood by his statement that traitor and turncoat Mike Pence did the right thing by certifying a stolen 2020 election, nobody should be surprised. This is who Tim Scott is—he’s the black, male version of Nikki Haley. His alliances are with the establishment, and any act suggesting otherwise is as fake as a three-dollar bill.

We’ve always had Tim Scott’s number and his fence-riding political style.

But it never fails. Eventually that balancing act will fall apart.

And even earlier than that, we warned about Scott’s record.

Revolver:

All the way back in 2021, we warned at length about why Sen. Scott should not be seen as the future of the Republican Party. All the reasons given then still hold today.

In 2018, Scott scuttled Trump judicial nominee Ryan Bounds over articles he’d written as an undergraduate a quarter-century earlier. A full two years before the peak of “cancel culture,” Scott participated in it himself. Just like the left-wing radicals he was copying, Scott waited for Bounds to deliver an unnecessary, humiliating apology, then knifed him anyway, announcing he would not vote for Bounds and causing his nomination to fail. Afterwards, left-wing groups gloated about their achievement.

Scott hitched his wagon to the disgraceful anti-police push of the Summer of Floyd, demanding not only the imprisonment of Derek Chauvin but also that of his three fellow officers, who were railroaded to multiyear prison sentences.

Tim’s never been “our guy.”

He’s a low-key RINO who wears the mask of a safe, friendly Republican who appeals to everyone. In reality, he’s got no backbone, and his loyalty lies with the GOP establishment.

The MAGA movement doesn’t need politicians wearing masks and waiting to see which way the wind blows. We need leaders who know exactly where they stand and aren’t afraid to rock the boat, and most importantly, who will fight with everything they’ve got for a midterm victory.

Right now, it sure doesn’t look like Tim Scott is the man for this job.
