While everyone is glued to AI stocks and crypto charts, the real power move just quietly unfolded in Washington.

The Office of Personnel Management finalized the rules that will allow President Trump to reclassify up to 50,000 federal employees as “at-will” workers.

Do you know what that means?

That means if the Supreme Court upholds this move, Trump can fire tens of thousands of entrenched bureaucrats (Deep State) who shape federal policy.

This is a direct nuclear strike right at the heart of the permanent administrative state.

A sharp observer noticed right away that something bigger than market volatility was unfolding.

Most people reading this post probably skimmed right past the last line… but that’s the bombshell.

Ceb K.

AI capex & capabilities exploding, AI-related stocks (hardware & software) oddly tumbling, Bitcoin/gold/silver etc crashing (but dollar rallying), etc; also OPM just finalized rules this morning allowing Trump to reclassify the most important 50k civil servants as at-will workers

He meant AI news as the big update, but it’s also eg worth noting that “Schedule F” has been the main goal of Republican presidents to fight the deep state for 50+ years & it was issued this morning (takes effect in 30 days) & SCOTUS will uphold it in upcoming Slaughter decision.

Schedule F, which has been renamed “Schedule Policy/Career,” isn’t new. It was introduced during Trump’s first term. But the goal hasn’t changed: crack open the layer of federal bureaucrats who influence policy but are nearly impossible to fire.

For decades, these career officials have operated under powerful civil service protections. Removing them requires appeals, hearings, outside oversight, and independent review, and all of this can take years, and even then, they still might not lose their job.

But schedule F changes all that.

If this goes through, any federal employee who influences policy can be moved into this new classification and become “at-will.”

That means no independent appeal rights.

Government Executive:

The Office of Personnel Management is set to finalize regulations implementing President Trump’s plan to strip tens of thousands of federal employees of their civil service protections.

First developed during Trump’s first term and revived last year, Schedule F—now renamed Schedule Policy/Career—is a new job classification within the government’s excepted service for “policy-related” positions. Employees in positions targeted for conversion would become effectively at-will employees.

A final rule formally implementing the policy is set for publication in the Federal Register Friday. Its provisions, first reported by Government Executive last November, include stripping Schedule Policy/Career employees of the removal protections in Title 5 of the U.S. Code and of their right to appeal adverse personnel actions. Whistleblower complaints from converted employees would no longer go to the U.S. Office of Special Counsel, instead being referred internally to the employing agency’s general counsel for review.

Administration officials estimated that as many as 50,000 federal employees could be targeted by the new policy after it takes effect March 8. Agencies have filed initial submissions of what jobs should be converted to Schedule Policy/Career, which will culminate in Trump’s issuance of a new executive order facilitating those conversions.

Think about it; roughly 50,000 federal employees (Deep Staters) could fall into this category.

That number is staggering, especially when you’re trying to make bold America First changes in the country.

What this will be is a full-blown structural shift in who actually controls the federal government.

For more than fifty years, Republican presidents have complained that the Deep State outlasts elections and resists policy changes like immigration enforcement, regulatory rollbacks, foreign policy, and intelligence oversight. The same complaint keeps coming up: we the people chose a president, but career officials shape what actually gets done.

Schedule F is designed to break that madness.

And that’s why federal unions are furious.

If the Supreme Court upholds this framework, Washington will change overnight.
