Senator Scott Wiener has become California’s most dangerous lawmaker, and that’s really saying something in a state run by human-wrecking ball Gavin Newsom. But Wiener is a whole ‘nother level of fetish and perversion.
Every time Wiener’s name appears on a bill, you can rest assured that women and children will pay the price. First, he helped decriminalize loitering for prostitution, which made it easier for predators and pimps to target vulnerable girls. Now, he’s setting his sights on Christian families.
Under Wiener’s twisted left-wing ideological crusade, also known as “SB 407,” California is actively punishing Christian foster parents for their faith. These are the same families who’ve opened their homes for decades to kids in crisis, but now, because they won’t celebrate gender ideology, the state deems them “unsafe.”
Senate Bill 407 (SB 407), signed into law in September 2023 by Governor Gavin Newsom, requires all prospective and current foster parents to demonstrate the “capacity, ability, and willingness” to affirm a child’s self-identified sexual orientation or gender identity as part of the licensing and recertification process. This has led to denials or revocations for some Christian families whose sincerely held religious beliefs prevent them from complying, particularly those who view gender as binary or homosexuality as incompatible with their faith.

Their jobs grew even more challenging when California repealed the law allowing the police to arrest women who loitered with the intent to engage in prostitution. The repeal, known as SB 357, was intended to prevent profiling of Black, brown and trans women based on how they dressed. But when it was implemented in January 2023, the effect was that uniformed officers could no longer apprehend groups of girls in lingerie on Figueroa, hoping to recover minors among them. Now officers needed to be willing to swear they had reason to suspect each girl was underage — but with fake eyelashes and wigs, it was nearly impossible to tell. One girl told vice officers that her trafficker had explained things succinctly: “We run Figueroa now,” he said.
Scott Wiener is already a problem for women and children in California… just imagine how dangerous he’d be in Congress. And since he’s running for Pelosi’s seat, that frightening thought could come true. God forbid.
But what’s happening in California boils down to one thing… it’s all about enforcing the left’s religion… where government plays god. The all-knowing state now decides what you’re allowed to believe, and if your faith doesn’t align with its gender-obsessed ideology, you’re disqualified from helping others.
And if you think this will only impact foster parents, guess again, folks. Legal experts warn this is a very short and dangerous jump from stripping Christians of foster rights to branding all Christian parents “unfit” if they reject the state’s gender-obsessed religion.

Christian foster parents with traditional, biblical beliefs on gender and sexuality are being systematically excluded from California’s foster care system due to the enforcement of SB 407. This new law, authored by Senator Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco), mandates that foster parents, irrespective of whether they have an LGBTQ-identified child in their care, must affirm a child’s chosen gender identity or sexual orientation. Neutrality is no longer acceptable under the updated guidelines issued by the California Department of Social Services (CDSS).
According to a letter distributed to all county and state-licensed foster care agencies last month, “Each resource family must have the capacity, ability, and willingness to safeguard a child’s or non-minor dependent’s personal rights and respect and honor the child’s identities regardless of their own values and beliefs.” The letter further asserts that any failure to affirm a child’s self-determined identity constitutes a “risk or threat” to the child’s health and safety. Consequently, this would result in the denial of foster care applications or the revocation of existing approvals.
This policy shift underscores a troubling development: the state now regards traditional views from any faith or non-faith regarding gender and sexuality as harmful, not only to foster children, but to all children under the system’s care.
Real-Life Implications
The California Family Council (CFC) recently received a call from a foster father who, along with his wife, had provided temporary care to multiple young children over several years. Despite their history of offering loving homes, their social worker denied the renewal of their foster care license because they could not commit to affirming any identity a child might choose. This was a marked departure from previous practices, where their belief were accommodated, and they were not assigned LGBTQ-identified children.“Their social worker told them that under SB 407, the promise of affirmation is now a requirement for fostering any child, regardless of age,” said Greg Burt, Vice President of the California Family Council.
Legal and Constitutional Concerns
Leading Christian legal organizations specializing in religious liberty cases have condemned the CDSS directive as unconstitutional. Kevin Snider, Chief Counsel for the Pacific Justice Institute, highlighted the broader ramifications of SB 407.“The implications of SB 407 and the recent Directive from the Dept. of Social Services is that foster families holding religious or traditional views on gender and sexual orientation are unqualified to provide care for foster children,” Snider explained. “California parents may think, ‘This doesn’t concern me — I’m not a foster parent.’ In fact, it does concern you. There is now a very small step for the state to deem any parent as unfit to raise their own children if the family holds a view that contradicts the state’s ideology on gender and sexual orientation. This could result in a visit by Child Protective Services with tragic consequences for the home.”
Kelly Rickert, an attorney with Advocates for Faith and Freedom, emphasized the dire need for foster parents in California, particularly in Los Angeles County, which has over 25,000 foster children in care. She said, “For centuries, Christians have stepped up to care for these children. But now, the State is stripping Christians who have previously provided years of care of their foster care licenses because they cannot in good conscience agree to promote the state’s onerous directives promoting LGBTQ+ ideologies.”
At the end of the day, the left’s number one enemy isn’t drug dealers, pimps, or violent criminals. It’s Christians. Faithful families stand in the way of turning America into a modern-day Sodom and Gomorrah. To make their god of government thrive, they must demonize believers, silence their faith, and punish them for living by God’s word.
