Don’t start popping the champagne corks yet, folks. America’s most unfunny, unpopular late night host is trying to claw his way back into your TV’s.

It’s actually ironic watching Jimmy Kimmel try to slither his way back onto the airwaves, because it’s not like America has been missing him. Kimmel was never a beloved late-night host. His ratings were lousy, his material was stale, and his entire act boiled down to one really tired, very moldy gimmick: raging about Donald Trump.

Mr. “Blackface” himself turned into a bitter, angry, hate-filled one-trick pony… the kind of late-night host who pushed Americans away with his non-stop Stage 5 TDS rants, instead of drawing them in with humor everybody could enjoy. But Kimmel wasn’t putting on a show for America. He was only there to win praise and progressive brownie points from his Trump-hating peers. And honestly, it all makes sense, right? After all, the Dem Party is one big hateful, violent, mentally ill group.

And speaking of hateful and violent, let’s not forget why Kimmel was yanked off the air in the first place.

After the brutal assassination of Charlie Kirk, instead of showing even an ounce of humanity, Kimmel shamelessly lied about what happened, tried to blame the assassination of MAGA, and then thought it was funny to crack a joke about it.

Normal Americans were disgusted, and rightfully so. The backlash was instant, with major station owners like Nexstar and Sinclair pulling him off their schedules. For a moment, it actually looked like Kimmel was finished. Early reports even suggested Disney might cut ties for good.

But now, the story is changing…

Variety:

he host has made no public comment since the show was abruptly pulled from its regular 11:35 p.m. slot on Sept. 17, with Disney saying only that the program would be off of its schedule “indefinitely” after one of the biggest owners of TV stations in the U.S., Nexstar, said it intended to pre-empt airings of the program following remarks the host made in relation to Trump and the slaying of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Sinclair, another large station owner, said it too was taking Kimmel off of its stations. Kimmel has hosted ABC’s late-night franchise since 2003 and in recent years has become a key face of the network as the host of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire,” the Academy Awards and other specials. There is no guarantee Kimmel and Disney will come to terms on agreement to return to the airwaves, these people cautioned. Nor is it clear where Kimmel’s mindset stands on what he would and would not accept from ABC as conditions of taking the stage again for “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

So now we’re in this strange sort of limbo.

Kimmel hasn’t been fired outright, but his future is murky, at best. The story he wants you to believe is that he’s  scheming for a way to weasel back in because he’s very “concerned” about his staff. The very same people whose paychecks depended on him not turning late-night TV into a deranged, progressive group therapy session are now caught in the fallout.

If Jimmy truly cared about the people who work on his show, he’d focus on putting out real comedy instead of an endless stream of unfunny, lame Trump rants. Maybe then his ratings wouldn’t be in the toilet, and he wouldn’t be so easy to toss aside.

The Variety piece goes on:

It’s understood that Kimmel is mindful of the effects a shutdown would have on dozens of his production staffers as well as vendors in Los Angeles who work on the show, according to one source with knowledge of the situation. The host is also aware some staff and crew members are still digging out of the financial hole created by the months-long writers and actors strikes in 2023.

Maybe Jimmy should have thought of that before he spent years turning his show into a nonstop Trump-bashing coping session for Hollywood elites and mentally unstable night owls. And here’s the kicker… Kimmel has been warned that his obsession with Trump isn’t just unfunny, it’s been tanking his brand. Does he care about his staff? No. The Variety piece goes on:

There is no doubt that Kimmel and Disney need to proceed with caution. The company needs many TV stations to distribute “Jimmy Kimmel Live” across the U.S. if it is to generate the ratings the network has guaranteed to advertisers. Ad spending on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” totaled $51.1 million in 2024, according to data from Guideline, a tracker of ad spending, accounting for 21% of all advertising on late night programs.

It’s understood that ABC and Disney brass had been flagging concerns to Kimmel for some time about the sharpness of his critiques of President Donald Trump and his unprecedented takeover of federal agencies. Kimmel has, like other commentators, not held back in his disdain for the Trump administration’s campaign with Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers to round up suspected undocumented immigrants on the streets and in workplaces, without regard for constitutional norms of due process and equal justice.

The left is at it again, doing what they do best… trying to turn an unpopular loser (or a career felon) into some kind of superhero. Nobody outside their bubble cares if a rich Hollywood millionaire loses his cushy job for being a liar and a fraud. What real Americans care about is when a kind husband and father, a man who just wanted to share ideas and have an honest dialogue, is assassinated in front of his wife and children. That’s why Jimmy Kimmel was yanked off the air. His brand of bitter, hateful “humor” has no place in America anymore, and the country is better off without it.

This isn’t a free speech issue; it’s a business decision. Kimmel was bleeding money for his bosses, and if you or I did that long enough and then lied on top of it, we’d get canned too.
