Oh, do we have a story dripping with shameless irony for you. The New York Times, those progressive dolts who’ve spent years either cheerleading Biden’s border invasion or ignoring the dangers, are now suddenly clutching their pearls over immigration. Not America’s immigration problem, of course. No, they’re suddenly very concerned that 24,000 rich American expats are “changing the culture” in Mexico.

Yes, you read that right… 24K remote workers sipping lattes in chic neighborhoods is apparently a catastrophe worthy of handwringing headlines.

Meanwhile, 24 million unskilled, unvetted illegals pour into U.S. communities, and the Times tells us it’s all “great for the country.” No red flags until it became an election issue in 2024, and even then, it was treated like no big deal. Never mind the spike in crime, the murders of innocent Americans, the crushing weight on our tax-funded systems… none of that raised alarms over at the Old Gray Lady.
Clearly, we know now that the Biden regime created and facilitated the invasion of illegals.
Watch:
If you aren’t aware, the Southwest Border is beyond blowing up. The 2nd train full of illegals arrived – and no one is stopping them.

This meme sums up Biden’s border stampede perfectly. The only difference is that this particular man was so out of it, he probably didn’t even realize what was happening under his senile watch.

So, while this invasion was unfolding in America, the New York Times yawned and turned the other way, but the second you tone down the salsa heat in Mexico City, suddenly it’s the end of civilization as we know it.
It started with the salsas.
At some taquerías, locals grumbled that their beloved condiments were less spicy because of the growing presence of foreigners. Then it was pizzerias opening on seemingly every corner. And third-wave coffee shops charging 100 pesos for a croissant.
The boom in global tourism since the pandemic has proved both unrelenting and unbearable to many of the people who live in destinations like Barcelona, Kyoto and Paris.
Some have grown so frustrated by the influx of seasonal visitors and the strain placed on city infrastructure that they have marched in the streets and even sprayed tourists with water guns. But in Mexico City, the visitors came quickly and many never left.
Remote workers rushed to chic, central neighborhoods like Condesa, Roma Norte and Juárez seeking less expensive housing and a favorable exchange rate. From 2020 to 2023, the number of temporary residents and renewals of temporary-resident cards from the United States nearly doubled, to about 24,000, according to a report from El País.
So there you have it. The New York Times couldn’t care less about millions of illegals destabilizing and destroying the very fabric of American communities and culture, but they’ll fire off heat-seeking missiles about croissants and coffee shops in Mexico. Once again, it’s not about principles or actual facts; it’s about politics, and as usual, the Times looks utterly ridiculous.

It turns out the cultural catastrophe the New York Times is worked up about isn’t cartels or corruption. It sure as heck isn’t the 24 million illegals that flooded across America’s border. Nope. The pressing issue of our time is that a few rich American expats in Mexico City have opened pizzerias and cocktail bars. The horror, right? According to the Times, this is apparently a full-blown assault on Mexican culture.
So while US cities are being overrun with crime, fentanyl, and waves of unvetted illegals, the brainiacs over at the Times is crying over bagels, pizza, and natural wine in Condesa.
And it gets even dumber, folks.
Now the Times is actually painting 24,000 affluent Americans in Mexico as a “foreign occupation.” Yes, bagels, almond milk, and protein powder are apparently tools of colonization. Meanwhile, 24 million illegals in the US are supposed to be “enriching” and untouchable.
In today’s globalized, social media-obsessed world, you can find slice shops in Tokyo and rainbow bagels in Paris. But American food lands differently in Mexico City.
What is now Mexico endured 300 years of colonization by Spain and lost significant territory to the United States. Its relationship with its northern neighbor remains tense; President Trump began his first run for office by referring to Mexican immigrants as murderers and rapists, and recently called Mexico one of the “worst places on earth.” Many city residents feel as if they’re going through another foreign occupation. “It’s a form of colonization,” said Oscar Rodríguez, who was standing in line at a juguería near his home in Condesa.
He pointed out that the juice stand now offers almond milk, protein powder and peanut butter. “Foreigners come in with these different types of food,” he said, “and then Mexicans have a tendency to adopt them as well.” Mexico City is having “one of the most boring moments in the history of Mexican food,” said Norma Listman, a Mexico native who co-owns Masala y Maíz, a Mexican-Indian restaurant in Juárez that was highlighted in the Netflix series “Chef’s Table” and received a Michelin star last year.
This is the kind of deranged double standard only elite white liberals could dream up. They despise privilege (except their own, since they’ll never take in an illegal or hand over their salaries to poor Mexicans with bland salsa). When it’s Americans, they hate it. When it’s foreign, they celebrate it. And in the end, none of it makes any sense. You get a long-winded, tone-deaf piece about how 24,000 Americans are supposedly destroying Mexico’s culture, while here at home Americans are being killed left and right by unskilled freeloaders who slithered across our border.
