We want to address an error in a recent blog we published about the January 6 pipe bomb investigation. The blog, titled “BREAKING: Thomas Massie identifies the elusive J6 pipe bomber…”, incorrectly stated that Representative Thomas Massie claimed the pipe bomber was a Capitol Police officer. In reality, Rep. Massie reiterated a detail we’ve extensively covered before: a plainclothes Capitol Police officer discovered the pipe bomb under highly suspicious circumstances.

This error was the result of a Revolver staffer referencing an outdated video and mistakenly picking up on a misrepresentation of Rep. Massie’s interview that has been circulating on X, which is awash with false reporting on the pipe bomb. While this wasn’t presented as an “investigative” Revolver exclusive, it’s still crucial that our blogs are accurate—and we fully understand that.

Once we identified the mistake, we immediately removed the blog to prevent further confusion.

We apologize for this oversight and for any confusion it may have caused.
