DEI has crept into every corner of the globe and every aspect of life. Even criminals seem to be getting dumber by the day, which might sound like a silver lining, but they are still wreaking havoc. Take, for example, the arsonist in Australia who managed to torch a barbershop and set himself on fire in the process, and the entire saga was caught on video.

CCTV footage caught the arsonist accidentally setting himself on fire while attempting to torch a barbershop. The suspect stumbles out of the building, desperately trying to put out the flames, before scampering away, likely smelling like a BBQ.

Footage shows two people in black clothing standing outside Gold Blade Barbers, in Canberra, Australia, at around 11.40pm on July 6.

Using a hammer, one of them begins busting a hole large enough for a human to pass through in the barbershop’s glass door.

The store had already closed for the evening when the second thug crawls inside through the broken hole and brings a can inside.

Wearing a motorbike helmet to conceal their identity, the unfortunate criminal begins pouring liquid from the can all over the shop.

In the video, the other member of the duo stays outside and is heard telling their partner to “hurry up” and saying, “let’s go, let’s go”.

That’s when the person inside the store takes out a lighter and tries to light a rag that has been dipped in fuel that is inside the can.

But their criminal plan is derailed when a huge fireball engulfs the arsonist and the barbershop as a result of the gasoline spill.

The panicking thug can be seen sprinting towards the window and then jumping through the glass hole.

Many are speculating whether this was an act of revenge, random violence, or perhaps insurance fraud. Time will tell. In the meantime, let’s hope authorities track down the bumbling arsonist—following the trail of grilled elbows could be a good start.
