President Trump’s political muscle appears as strong as ever; he just flexed it big time, and it looks as if he just ousted popular Republican Congressman Bob Good of Virginia. Many on our side were perplexed and even annoyed that Trump refused to endorse Good and instead backed his primary challenger. They believed the move stemmed from Good’s endorsement of DeSantis and his delayed endorsement of President Trump.

Politico:

Incumbents have had a strong showing so far this cycle. That could change this week.

Two House Republicans from different ends of the ideological spectrum face primary challenges Tuesday: one, Oklahoma Rep. Tom Cole, is a longtime establishment figure, while the other, Virginia Rep. Bob Good, leads the party’s rabble-rousing faction. And with millions of dollars poured into the efforts to oust them, either could become the first member of Congress this year to be kicked out by an outside challenger.

Good’s race has drawn the most national attention and attracted about $15 million in spending. It’s stop No. 2 on former Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s revenge tour, which stumbled out of the gate last week when his deep-pocketed operation was unable to take down Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.). Both she and Good were among the eight Republicans who voted to strip McCarthy of his gavel, and he has been working to boost their primary opponents.

Good finally endorsed Trump, and it wasn’t enough. Trump’s response on Truth Social was “it’s too late,” once again, leaving people shocked and some rather dismayed.

CBS News:

Republican voters in Virginia’s 5th Congressional District do not yet know whether House Freedom Caucus Chairman Bob Good was on his way to his fifth term in office or whether opponent, state Sen. John McGuire, a former Navy SEAL, won Tuesday’s GOP primary, a race that highlighted a divide within the Trump faction of the GOP.

While some are still saying the race is too close to call, others are already celebrating Good’s defeat.

Marjorie Taylor Greene:

John McGuire WINS!

I was the first member of Congress to endorse @JohnMcGuire4VA because of his conservative record, his loyalty to President Trump, and his service to our country.

This victory shows just how toxic Bob Good has been to the Republican Party, the America First movement, and perhaps most critically to the reelection of President Trump.

It’s time for the Republican Party to unite, stop pushing self-serving politicians, and DEFEAT the Democrats in November!

Congrats to Trump & MTG-endorsed John McGuire, the next Congressman from Virginia’s Fifth District!!!

Whoever is ultimately declared the winner—and most believe it’ll be McGuire—the vote counting is currently delayed due to “Juneteenth.” The CBS News piece continues:

With 96% of the votes counted McGuire leads with 31,402 votes, compared to 31,057 for Good — a tiny margin of 0.4%, just 345 votes. All state offices in Virginia are closed Wednesday, in observation of the  Juneteenth holiday, so the remaining votes will be counted Thursday.

The winner of the Republican primary is almost certainly likely to win the general election in the Southside Virginia district. The nonpartisan election tracker, Cook Political Report, rates the race “Solid Republican.”

Good lost the support of both Kevin McCarthy-aligned Republicans in the wake of his vote to oust McCarthy as speaker and former President Donald Trump, after he endorsed the former president’s primary opponent, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Good later endorsed Trump after DeSantis dropped out, but not soon enough for Trump, who posted on Truth Social, “It was too late” — and then endorsed his primary challenger.

As we mentioned earlier, many conservatives were puzzled by President Trump’s refusal to endorse Good, even after Good shifted his support back to Trump when DeSantis dropped out. A video posted by Marjorie Taylor Greene has provided the likely answer everyone was looking for. It revealed that Good was fully supportive of the regime’s lawfare against President Trump and even suggested that Trump was lugging around “baggage.” In Trump’s eyes, that was a traitorous move that simply couldn’t be forgiven, especially considering what Trump and so many others are going through right now, thanks to this weaponized judicial system.

Granted, the alternative, John McGuire, also had some pretty glaring issues. This is from a post by McGuire, who praised Kamala Harris and our great country after the disastrous 2020 sham election—it’s a completely tone-deaf, establishment-style statement and hardly something any MAGA supporter would endorse. However, it seems that between this and the lawfare betrayal by Good, President Trump found it easier to back McGuire.

In the end, Bob Good seriously misread the room with his endorsement of DeSantis, but even more so with his strong endorsement of the regime’s lawfare against President Trump. This also extended to everyone else, including J6 political prisoners Steve Bannon, Peter Navarro, and Douglass Mackey, who was convicted of a felony for sharing an anti-Hillary meme.

In this day and age, with the regime’s efforts to weaponize our court systems against political dissidents, it’s simply too far a step to forgive and endorse. It’s completely understandable why President Trump opted to go in another direction. No conservative, regardless of their original endorsement, should ever rubber-stamp the regime’s lawfare.
