Many of you will recall the captivating case of the Menendez murders. A wealthy Beverly Hills couple named Kitty and José Menendez were murdered in their home on August 20th, 1989. José was a self-made millionaire and a bigwig in the business end of the entertainment industry. The couple were standing in the den of their swanky mansion when their two sons, Lyle and Erik, 21, and 18, entered the room carrying shotguns and began firing away.

As you can imagine, the crime scene was a bloodbath:

Even though they tried to fly under the radar, the brothers couldn’t escape the law. They ended up in cuffs, facing charges for the unthinkable crime of killing their parents. They pleaded not guilty and dropped a bombshell — they claimed years of sexual abuse by their dad, and said their mom was in the loop. But their pleas fell on deaf ears. They were dismissed as pampered kids looking for a quick cash grab, found guilty, and shipped off to prison.

The Menendez brothers: A look at their childhood, the murder, the trial - ABC News

But now, thanks to a new Peacock documentary called  “Menendez + Menudo: Boys Betrayed,” many people are taking another look at the Mendez case, including Rosie O’Donnell, who apparently knows more about what went on behind the scenes than we ever realized.

The New York Post:

Both Erik and Lyle claimed during their first trial in 1993 that they were sexually molested by their father and their mother enabled the abuse. They were 18 and 21 at the time. The brothers did not deny the murders, but they argued in their defense that the murders were not cold-blooded, but rather an act of self-defense in response to the abuse.

Erik and Lyle were both ultimately convicted on two counts of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder and were sentenced to life without parole, which they are still serving.

O’Donnell shared a video to TikTok over the weekend saying that she has “known” the Menendez brothers were innocent — and shared that Lyle had first reached out to her in 1996.

The video has stirred considerable buzz as Rosie shares a chilling revelation. She claims that Lyle reached out to her back in 1996, stating, “I know you know…” And she admits she did know — something. Rosie knew the boys were victims. Although she didn’t delve into specifics, her comments led viewers to believe she has some very serious undisclosed “insider” information on the matter. Why didn’t she speak up? Here’s what Rosie had to say about that.

“I was afraid and I wasn’t ready to touch the subject and you know, it was 1996. In ’96, you know in the late 80s, people weren’t ready to accept the fact that boys get raped sometimes by their fathers, and as a culture, we ridiculed them,”

Wow. Stunning admission, but there’s a lot more to the story.

The New York Post piece goes on:

In 2019, O’Donnell revealed that she was sexually abused by her own father, Edward Joseph O’Donnell, who died of cancer in August 2015 at age 81.

She continued in the video, “Jokes about them on ‘Saturday Night Live,’ jokes from Jay Leno every night. Everyone thought this was a funny target to kids who had been molested since the age of preschool, fighting back and standing up and people thought they just wanted the money. They had the money. They didn’t need the money. Money was not what it was about.”

These new revelations surrounding the Menendez case deserve investigation. Many believe that José  Menendez was the “Harvey Weinstein” of his time — another situation where many people “knew,” but said nothing.

Jose Menendez was a prominent executive at RCA Records. CNN is reporting that, according to a petition filed with the courts, a man named Roy Rossello who was in the Latin boy band Menudo in the 1980s claims he was also raped by Jose Menendez.

Sadly, this is something Hollywood is famous for.

Furthermore, Erik Menendez wrote a letter to his cousin eight months before the others that details some chilling accusations.

CNN:

The letter from Erik Menendez to his cousin, Andy Cano, in December 1988 says “Its (sic) still happening Andy but its worse for me now.”

“He’s so overweight that I can’t stand to see him,” the letter says. “I never know when its (sic) going to happen and its driving me crazy. Every night I stay up thinking he might come in. I need to put it out of my mind. I know what you said before but I’m afraid. You just don’t know dad like I do. He’s crazy! He’s warned me a hundred times about telling anyone especially Lyle. Am I a serious whimpus? I don’t know I’ll make it through this. I can handle it, Andy. I need to stop thinking about it.”

The letter was discovered by Jose Menendez’s younger sister and Andy’s mother, Marta Cano, who shared it with journalist Robert Rand in April 2018, who then shared the letter with Erik Menendez’s former appellate counsel Cliff Gardner the same month, the court document says.

According to CNN, “Attorneys are asking the court to either vacate the conviction and sentence against the two brothers, or permit discovery and an evidentiary hearing when they can provide proof, the document says.”

The bigger question then is, how did Rosie O’Donnell know? We know that these prominent pedophiles often operate in packs, offering up their “victims” to their other pedophile friends. Did everyone in Hollywood know? Was there an entire pedophile ring partaking in this?

Sounds like this case ought to be reopened up and investigated.
