Elon Musk almost had his goose cooked due to a string of disastrous mistakes surrounding a failed agreement between Twitter and Daily Wire to broadcast the highly popular documentary “What Is A Woman.” According to the folks at Daily Wire, Twitter originally agreed to broadcast the documentary. However, once they actually watched it, they changed their minds and called it “hate speech.” They cited two instances of “misgendering” as the reason for their decision.
For what felt like forever, Musk stayed quiet while people’s tempers flared and the fire intensified. Even prominent conservatives like Tim Pool were threatening to cancel their Twitter Blue membership if Elon didn’t release the documentary without any “hate speech” warnings.
I'm assuming @elonmusk just wasn't yet made aware of what's going on
But if the showing of What Is A Woman is not restored Timcast will terminate its enterprise Blue subscription https://t.co/80dA4KP6wv

Eventually, Elon responded to Daily Wire co-found Jeremy Boreing’s Twitter thread about the censorship fiasco. He claimed that the issue was mishandled inside Twitter.
This was a mistake by many people at Twitter. It is definitely allowed. Whether or not you agree with using someone’s preferred pronouns, not doing so is at most rude and certainly breaks no laws. I should note that I do personally use someone’s preferred pronouns, just as I use someone’s preferred name, simply from the standpoint of good manners. However, for the same reason, I object to rude behavior, ostracism or threats of violence if the wrong pronoun or name is used.

Not long after that Tweet, Twitter’s head of “Trust and Safety” left the company.
NOW: Twitter’s head of Trust & Safety, Ella Irwin, has just left the company
Trust & Safety is the team who allegedly claimed Daily Wire’s ‘What Is A Woman’ was “hateful content”

Sadly, the censorship of the documentary persisted throughout the night, but it eventually was lifted by morning.

Documentary host Matt Walsh made the celebratory announcement.
It was a battle but free speech wins in the end. The film can now be seen and shared by all. Please retweet. https://t.co/aVMEwFHCro

In the end, Elon made himself great again by not only removing all the “hate speech” warnings, but also recommending parents watch the documentary as well.
Every parent should watch this https://t.co/pIp6UP6vq8

Elon had a close call there. Tucker was likely watching the whole thing from backstage, wondering if he made a big blunder by announcing the show’s launch on Twitter. Thankfully, this bullet was dodged, but there’s probably a lot more waiting down the road.
The documentary can be seen here:
It’s the movie they really don’t want you to see: #WhatIsAWoman?
