President Trump’s Venezuela strategy wasn’t just a winning one. According to Sundance, the political writer over at the Conservative Tree House, it was genuinely stunning and brilliantly executed.

It all started with a message from President Trump. He explained that Venezuela’s interim authorities would turn over between 30 and 50 million barrels of sanctioned, high-quality oil to the US, and that it’d be sold at market price under US oversight. Trump put Energy Secretary Chris Wright in charge and laid out a plan to move the barrels by storage ships straight to American docks, saying the deal would help both nations.

And just as a reminder, Trump has been adamant about taking control of oil since 2015, and the media kept saying we couldn’t do that. They told Americans it was impossible, reckless, and against the rules of the global order, blah blah blah. Well, Trump just showed them, didn’t he?

But what Trump didn’t say in his message is how China and Russia were licking their chops to get their mitts on Venezuela’s oil, hoping they could grab those barrels through Dubai and the usual globalist back channels. Trump beat them to the punch. He played a calculated game of world chess and “trumped” them by moving first, locking the deal at real market price, and shutting the door on Beijing and Moscow.

Naysayers tried to paint Trump’s capture of Maduro as some establishment move, a charity project for Venezuela, or just another greedy oil deal. But people who actually watch the chessboard know better. President Trump is putting pressure on America’s enemies and protecting America’s interests first, and that means starving China and Russia of the resources they need to throw their weight around the globe.

Trump’s takedown of Maduro is 100 percent America First, because it blocks China from grabbing Venezuela’s oil and using it to dominate AI, strengthen BRICS, and threaten Taiwan. Without those barrels, China loses its war plans, its tech edge, and its other ambitions.

If you cut off China’s liquid gold, you take away their power.

As Sundance points out, for decades the old Swamp establishment crowd handled foreign messes the disastrous Bush way: pour American money and American lives into Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, and Syria, and hope influence would someday turn into stability. US taxpayers were treated like an endless ATM, and the countries we invaded ended up worse.

Trump is taking the opposite approach in Venezuela. He is pushing to make the Maduro regime finance its own rebuild by using oil assets while keeping those sales at true market price and saving American taxpayers from another trillion-dollar bill. The difference is remarkable. The Bush style rewarded the people who caused the damage, and the Trump style makes them pay for the fix.

Conservative Tree House:

This is way beyond winning, this is stunningly brilliant strategy.  Not only has President Trump successfully apprehended Venezuela dictator Nicolas Maduro, but the remaining interim government officials have acquiesced to fund a civil restitution plan to pay for their malfeasance.

The government that stole from its people is being forced to pay restitution for their own fraud, abuse and misconduct.

Some type of short-term funding is needed during any kind of reconstruction of govt.  Typically, the U.S. taxpayer would be on the hook during this phase; however, President Trump has found a way for the corrupt Venezuelan authorities to pay for their own civic shift back to democracy.  Brilliant.

The 30 to 50 million barrels of oil is approximately a $2 billion self-created reconstruction effort.

Compare and contrast this approach with the trillions of U.S. taxpayer funds that were used in the failed efforts in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, etcetera….  or even Kuwait, albeit the Kuwaiti’s offered, but prior U.S. leadership chose influence over restitution.

In this example, almost immediately the funds now in the control of President Trump can be deployed to the greater benefit of the Venezuelan people.

Another way to look at this is like a type of ‘sovereign wealth fund’ created by the corrupt Venezuelan officials, using the resources that belong to the Venezuelan people, to support the interim needs of the same citizens they victimized.

Well done President Trump and Secretary Rubio!

America First isn’t about hiding from the world and pretending threats will magically disappear on their own. It means taking smart, calculated chess-like moves to protect American power. The old Bush-era model burned through money and lives while our enemies grew stronger and more confident. The new Trump model says we don’t repeat those mistakes, we force accountability, and we use leverage instead of endless blank checks. The United States isn’t built to be some Rand Paul sit-on-the-sidelines isolation experiment.

The country has to act like a serious nation that defends its interests in real time.
