If you’re wondering why immigration enforcement always grinds to a halt no matter how hard we push, here’s your answer. The problem isn’t just bad policy or weak politicians… it’s clever lawfare. And the left just found a new weapon, and they’re going crazy.

This one’s sneaky and devastatingly effective. It doesn’t require changing the law or winning elections. All it takes is flooding the courts so badly that nothing else can get done.

Let’s put it simply. It’s this type of Target “protest,” but at the court level…

Jamming up the system and walking away.

That’s exactly what’s happening right now in a federal court in Minnesota.

In just eighteen days, left-wing immigration lawyers have more than 300 so-called “emergency” habeas corpus petitions.  That’s more than half of all civil cases filed in that court so far this year.

This is an attack on the courts, and it’s working.

It’s a deliberate attempt to jam up the system and force judges to start releasing detainees before the government even has a chance to respond.  Once you see how it works, you will understand why enforcement keeps collapsing no matter how tough we get.

American Experiment:

In classic Saul Alinsky/Cloward-Piven-style, immigration lawyers have overwhelmed the local federal district court with habeas corpus filings to bring normal court business to a halt.

Habeas corpus (lit. produce the body) filings demand emergency relief to have a suspect released from custody by a judge’s order.

As of today (Thursday, Jan. 22), 319 habeas petitions have been filed in Federal District Court in Minnesota since the beginning of the calendar year. That number represents most (58 percent) of all the 546 civil cases filed with the court in 2026.

The court only began accepting new cases for the year on January 5.

Expressed a different way, in 2025, it took until February 11 before we reached civil case No. 546, of all types.

With more than 300 such “emergency” filings made in eighteen (18) days, the court has little time to do anything else, such a try criminal cases or issue arrest warrants.

And it’s all being done in Star Chamber-like secrecy.

This is how lawfare works when it’s done well, and sadly, the left has mastered it. They’re pros at weaponizing the system. They take existing laws and twist them into tools of chaos, using them to stall, obstruct, and stop Team Trump dead in its tracks. The left fights dirty, and this is how they keep winning even when they lose elections. In their world, you don’t need the voters on your side. You just need a system that can be manipulated to your advantage.

Habeas corpus was never meant to be some “reset” button for people who already lost their immigration cases. But when you flood a court with “emergency” filings, urgency replaces scrutiny, and volume takes over and floods the entire system.

That’s the point.

When hundreds of filings hit all at once, judges and clerks are flustered, and the government doesn’t have time to even show up. The system starts making decisions just to keep it moving, and enforcement grinds to a halt while paperwork takes over.

And what makes this whole thing really dangerous is the secrecy. When names are hidden, files are sealed, and attorneys remain invisible, all the accountability disappears. Do you see how crafty and clever the left is? They never stop searching for ways to win.

Now, with all this legal secrecy, nobody can follow the money, track patterns, or see who’s coordinating what and where.

This allows the left to work against us, completely unchallenged.

When local government collapses, when law enforcement disappears, and when elected officials either won’t or can’t restore order, the federal government is left with a short list of options.

That’s why people are once again talking about the Insurrection Act and the suspension of habeas corpus.

And here’s the uncomfortable truth sitting underneath all of this. The left is banking on the idea that Trump won’t actually pull a trigger like that. They’re betting he’s surrounded by weak-kneed Republicans who are still terrified of being called racists. They pretty much figure their usual threat of a pressure campaign will work, like it always has.

But the truth is, yes, a move that drastic would likely rattle the average, non-political American. Even voters who are fed up with chaos would flinch once the media machine kicked into overdrive. Every tired “Trump is Hitler” trope would be dusted off and blasted wall-to-wall.

That’s the bind we’re in, whether anyone wants to admit it or not. The left operates in the shadows, through courts, bureaucracy, and sabotage. Our side responds in the open, under a microscope. The rules aren’t fair, and that imbalance is exactly why they keep winning.

But don’t forget… you can’t save the nation by taking the easy way out…
