Richard Baris isn’t some random talking head. He’s one of the most consistent pollsters in the country and one of the few who actually understands how voters think, not how consultants wish they thought. So when Baris looked into what happened in the recent Virginia and New Jersey elections, he found something Republicans everywhere should pay attention to.

Yes, these races were in blue states. Yes, nobody expected a red wave. But the real story wasn’t the loss. It was the drop-off… a massive chunk of GOP voters who simply stayed home. Baris wanted to know why, so he went directly to the data and the voters.

And what he found wasn’t the usual stuff.

It wasn’t the economy.

It wasn’t immigration.

It wasn’t a crime.

It was something much weirder.

GOP voters were demoralized because they felt Trump was getting distracted by foreign policy, while things at home still felt rough. Add the sloppy handling of the Epstein moment, where Trump called it a “Dem hoax,” then had to clarify he didn’t mean the scandal itself was fake, and voters felt brushed off on an issue they care about. The shutdown didn’t help either. Even though Dems were responsible, the entire mess sucked up oxygen and drained everyone’s patience.

Put together, it created a mood.

A slump.

A big ol’ downer vibe.

Voters were frustrated, tired, and not feeling like the issues that hit their families – the economy, inflation, and safety – were front and center. And when the base feels that way, they don’t show up. That’s exactly what Baris warned about.

And now, with President Trump’s polls slumping, Baris is doing a very well-meaning “I told you so.”

Five months after our early warning poll, it’s becoming mainstream knowledge the mishandling of the #EpsteinFiles played a bigger role in the decline of Trump’s approval than some wanted to believe.

We’re now learning it’s role in key demos not voting.

It’s no secret that President Trump is getting hammered from every direction — the Democrats, the media, and even parts of his own party as Republicans jockey for position heading into 2028. That doesn’t help the mood either. And some would argue that beyond Epstein, the real deflator for the base is watching the Deep State run wild with zero consequences, even after everything they did to destroy Trump, his supporters, and the country.

Regardless, Baris says his findings are pretty extraordinary, and they should serve as a clear warning for MAGA and President Trump. There’s still plenty of time to right the ship, but we can’t fix anything if we ignore what’s really going on.

BARIS: Talking to GOP voters in NJ and VA, the top reasons they did not vote were Epstein and Israel. Israel stands as a symbol of foreign policy and ppl are mad the admin got sidelined with things they did not care about. The shutdown was number 3. The right needs a wake up call. They need to change this fast or they are going to get crushed.

And keep in mind, just because this information might be uncomfortable, or you don’t like hearing it, doesn’t make it fake. Baris is not some random pundit with a theory. He’s one of the few experts in this field who has proven himself over and over, and when he finds something this unusual, you should pay attention.

MAGA can absolutely win the midterms, but only if we’re willing to look at the warning signs now instead of pretending they don’t exist. This idea that Dems are “too crazy” to win should have died the day New York City elected a full-blown Marxist. The political environment we’re in is not normal. It’s not predictable. And it’s not forgiving.

This is the moment to tighten up. Not panic. Not spiral. Just sharpen the message and get back to what moves voters: the economy, immigration, crime (taking down the Deep state), and the future of the country they’re trying to save.

After the barrage of right-wing pollsters who’ve been issuing “warnings,” President Trump called an emergency meeting to better understand the situation, and take proper action before the midterms.
