Some characters are so absurd you almost forget they’re real. Steven Hassan is one of those kooks. We’ve covered this guy before. He’s the self-proclaimed “cult expert” who spent years inside an actual cult himself, then somehow rebranded that personal disaster into a credential. The Biden FBI, in all their brilliance, took one look at that resume and said “perfect! That’s our guy!” And of course, this is the man suffering with Stage 5 10 TDS, who labels MAGA a “cult,” while the FBI leaned on him for the OneTaste case.

Hassan is the type who sees a “cult” everywhere except in the mirror. He wrote an entire book declaring that MAGA is a mind-control operation. As you can see, he’s a totally impartial “expert.” The type of guy you’d trust to guide federal agents on anything serious.

And like clockwork, the Biden DOJ treated his opinions like gospel and pumped his work straight into their training materials.

Well, now, this guy is back at it, and he’s more triggered than ever. But before we get into Mr. Hassan’s latest nonsense, it’s worth taking a quick walk back through what we exposed the first time around. Hassan wasn’t just hovering on the sidelines at the FBI. He was knee-deep in one of their biggest cases: OneTaste. Hassan was busy shaping narratives, influencing “victim” reinterpretations, and inserting himself in ways that raised every red flag in the book.

Revolver:

In the middle of a quietly unfolding federal trial against former executives of a Silicon Valley wellness company called OneTaste, something truly extraordinary happened. Through the grind and determination of civil litigation, subpoena battles, and courtroom discovery, OneTaste stumbled onto a trail of evidence that doesn’t just raise questions about their own prosecution; it raises red flags about the very foundations of how federal agencies have been operating since the start of the lawfare era.

At the center of this discovery is a man named Steven Hassan, a self-described “cult expert” who authored a book titled “The Cult of Trump: A Leading Cult Expert Explains How the President Uses Mind Control.”

This is the man whose work is now featured on the FBI official website. And the man whose “BITE Model,” a subjective framework built on emotional, behavioral, and thought control, is being used to train FBI agents on how to identify “cult victims.”

This questionable training has been directly linked to criminal cases involving spiritual communities like OneTaste, where former members were encouraged to reinterpret their past experiences as “trauma” with the help of taxpayer-funded “victim services” and workshops hosted by Mr. Hassan.

According to documents reviewed by Revolver, federal prosecutors directed OneTaste’s defense attorneys to “look to the media,” specifically referencing a BBC podcast featuring Steven Hassan and several former members, saying it would help them understand the crime under investigation. That podcast, which is now the subject of a legal complaint by OneTaste, contains no formal criminal allegations or defined legal violations. It offers only personal stories, cult rhetoric, and opinion-based commentary. The only criminal allegation it puts forward is the story of Ayries Blanck, the government’s lead witness up until four weeks before trial. Once the defense proved she had perjured her testimony and fabricated false evidence in coordination with Netflix, prosecutors were forced to drop her.

And here’s what hasn’t been reported—until now.

According to sources close to the case and court-reviewed communications, Steven Hassan wasn’t just a media pundit or an FBI-approved “cult expert.” He was also the personal therapist for both Michal, the central figure in the 2018 Bloomberg article that triggered the FBI investigation (more on that shortly), and Ayries Blanck, the same witness who, according to court filings, allegedly worked with FBI Agent McGinnis to create fraudulent evidence.

In the Bloomberg story, Michal alleged she was “forced to marry” a man at OneTaste, a claim that, according to sources familiar with the case, is contradicted by substantial evidence showing the relationship was totally voluntary.

But it gets even more tangled. Bloomberg reporter Ellen Huet, who wrote the original article, requested to interview Hassan for a book she’s writing about OneTaste. He declined, citing concern about the lawsuit OneTaste filed against the BBC for their podcast, the same podcast where he appeared as the featured cult expert, and the same one prosecutors told the defense to “watch” to understand the charges.

Emails reviewed by Revolver confirm that Bloomberg reporter Ellen Huet reached out to Steven Hassan to collaborate on a book about OneTaste. Hassan declined, citing legal concerns tied to the BBC lawsuit and saying he had to be “careful.”

If all of that sounds like the behavior of an impartial, level-headed “expert,” you probably need your head examined too. Steven Hassan is not some outside clinical observer. He is a weak-minded former cult member who built an entire new life by swapping one obsession for another. Trump is now his evil villain and his meal ticket.

It’s as if Mr. Hassan obsessively searches through the internet looking for anybody talking smack about President Trump. Back in 2022, he posted a comment from radicalized Democrat Jamie Raskin, offering to “help” with the MAGA cult. Not sure what he planned to do? Perhaps “deprogram” half the country?

Steven Hassan:

Rep. Jamie Raskin (@RepRaskin/@jamie_raskin) said recently:

“The Republican Party is no longer operating like a modern political party, it is operating much more like a religious and political cult, under the control of one man.”

Congressman, you are right and I want to help.

He keeps rambling:

I am a former cult member from a right-wing authoritarian cult who has been helping people out of cults for the last 45 years. I’ve written 4 books on this subject and would be happy to HELP you understand this confusing and complex topic. I know how to help people out.

Of course radical Raskin jumped in and welcomed Hassan’s “help.” What either of these guys actually had in mind is anyone’s guess. Probably something totally reasonable… like reprogramming camps.

But it’s no surprise these two TDS minds joined up. Hassan has been fixated on President Trump for ages, and he treats X like his coping mechanism and his grift machine.

Hassan pitches that book like a full-blown snake oil salesman. Just imagine him at the Thanksgiving table: “Pass the mashed potatoes… and by the way, I wrote a book about MAGA; have you heard?” The guy can’t get through a side dish without a sales pitch.

But what’s really scary is that Hassan inserts himself into really delicate situations, then nudges people to reinterpret everything through his ideology. After, he steps back and calls it “science.”

Now he’s back in the spotlight again, latching onto Karoline Leavitt as his latest excuse to recycle the same tired “MAGA is a cult” shtick he’s been regurgitating for years.

Hassan is now on X pitching himself as the brave truth-teller standing between America and a MAGA “cult.” Karoline Leavitt’s press briefings are his new stage. Hassan calls them propaganda, paints the country in free-fall, and then, right on cue, pushes his fellow TDS sufferers to his MAG book as the big solution.

Steven Hassan:

Karoline Leavitt’s press briefings are a masterclass in propaganda: deflection, reversal, distraction, and narrative-flipping.

And the timing isn’t random.

The government has only just reopened. We still don’t have answers about the Epstein files. But Marjorie Taylor Greene has been thrown under the bus. Many MAGA supporters are exiting because they are realizing how inflation is going up, prices are going up, the economy is getting bad, and there are no trustworthy numbers anymore.

People deserve real information, not gaslighting and theatrics.

Why are they so desperate for you not to?

What do you think? Put your comments below.

Hassan’s obsession with Karoline Leavitt is getting weird. He isn’t analyzing anything at this point. He’s projecting, fixating, and basically using X like it’s his personal therapy couch.

He fired off another gem, using the same culty language on Karoline. He’s really out here treating the fact that he got suckered into a cult as his “advantage.” Seems more like a disadvantage. It’s like getting advice from a guy who flunked swimming lessons telling you how to do the breaststroke.

So that’s where he left things with Karoline… spiraling, projecting, and diagnosing “cults” like he’s handing out fortune cookies. And it’s the same tired script every time: call everyone a cult, push the book, repeat. For someone who claims to have “escaped” manipulation, he sure sounds committed to reliving it on loop every day.

But just when you think Hassan can’t crank the kook dial any higher, he dives straight into full crackpot territory. This next post is pure, unfiltered paranoia and a sneak peek into his next obsession: JD Vance. All the Veep did was talk about the economy, a totally normal political clip, and Hassan responded with something so deranged it reads like it was scribbled during a psychotic episode.

Steven Hassan:

Vance is lying yet again and needs to be distrusted for supporting Trump when he knows how vile and corrupt he is. Pedophile, trafficker, in bed with criminal Putin. He is in line to be President when Trump has fatal health issue – organic or human caused.

If the Vance rant didn’t already prove Hassan is in his own alternate universe, nothing will. But just when you think ol’ Steven might pause, take a breath, and regroup, he doesn’t. He is now quadrupling down. Hassan launches straight into another whopper, dragging out the same tired “malignant narcissist cult leader” routine like he’s performing a one-man vaudeville show with that stupid book of his. And please pay attention to the comparisons he’s making. This guy is completely detached from reality.

It’s obvious Hassan is not operating with a full deck. These rants are not the words of a stable, impartial professional. They read like the emotional ramblings of someone who can’t deal with his own trauma and is projecting it onto every political figure he dislikes. The comparisons he hurls around are totally reckless. His tone is literally manic. This is the kind of ranting that should make any sane person ask how this man was ever treated as an authority on anything.

And just when you think Hassan might finally pump the brakes, he slams his foot on the gas and steers straight into full meltdown mode. This next clip is him cranking up the drama, paranoia, and snake oil routine to eleven. He drags out Jim Jones, his own cult past, and somehow tries to loop all of it back to President Trump.

Steven Hassan:

November 18th, 1978.

I will never forget sitting in front of the television, looking at the devastating footage from the Jonestown Massacre.

That day, I saw bodies face-down with their arms around their children. Over 900 Americans dead. Congressman Leo Ryan assassinated. His aide Jackie Speier survived gunshot wounds and later became Congresswoman Jackie Speier.

It changed the course of my life.

We pushed hard for November 18th to become #CultAwarenessDay, and Congressman Barney Frank helped introduce the bill to educate people about the reality of brainwashing and mind control. There was even a congressional subcommittee investigation into the techniques Jim Jones used.

I wrote about Jones in Chapter 3 of The Cult of Trump, comparing him with Sun Myung Moon, my former cult leader, and L. Ron Hubbard of Scientology. Malignant narcissists who weaponize influence, just as Trump is doing while running the United States and driving our democratic and economic systems into the ground.

Many people are now realizing they trusted a malignant narcissist, just like I did at 19 in the Moonies. That’s why I invite everyone to join the Freedom of Mind community and learn about undue influence, as well as download the Influence Continuum (now also available in Spanish).

Share it with friends, doctors, dentists, teachers, and ask them  to put it up on the wall, so that people worldwide can start understanding the difference between ethical and unethical influence.

Bright, intelligent people can have their minds hacked. And today it’s happening through phones and computer systems using psychological warfare techniques and AI.

We need to stay educated and grounded. This is our planet, and our fight for human rights and democracy against authoritarian mind control criminals.

If you want to go deeper, I spoke with Jonestown survivor Vernon Gosney about what really happened. Comment “WATCH NOW” to get the link to view that conversation.

Do you remember where you were when this tragedy occurred?

S

At this point, Trump should probably sue this nutbag. Hassan is crossing every line in the book, flinging around accusations that are so reckless, defamatory, and completely detached from reality. But the bigger issue is not just the slander. With total seriousness, this man is so half-baked he should not be anywhere near a courtroom, a federal agency, a media platform, or anyone seeking actual help or guidance.

The fact that this person was ever treated as a credible “expert” by the FBI is the most disturbing part of all this. Because nothing he’s posting reads like professional insight. It reads like a really gullible man spiraling online, convinced he is the only one who sees the “truth,” while everyone around him watches the creepy meltdown in real time.

If this is the type of “expert” the Biden FBI relied on, it’s no wonder the bureau fell apart.
