It’s been a rough stretch for James Comey, and it looks like it’s about to get a helluva lot worse.

After filing his motion to dismiss, the disgraced former FBI director probably thought he could quietly slither past the headlines. Nope. Instead, the whole thing backfired, and now we know how bad things really are for the lumbering leaker.

Everything hinges on Exhibit 13. This is a newly unsealed piece of evidence inside that motion that just cracked the case wide open. It’s the first real look at the full scope of what’s been building against him, and it’s not pretty.

Mike Davis:

Trump U.S. Attorney Lindsey Halligan files public response to James Comey’s motion to dismiss his indictment for vindictive prosecution. Exhibit 13 includes bombshell, damning evidence of then-FBI Director Comey’s handwritten note–on FBI director letterhead–evidencing Comey’s knowledge of–and even participation in–the Russian collusion criminal conspiracy against Trump.

Exhibit 5 gets worse. James Comey, from his burner gmail with his alias Reinhold Niebuhr, states: to me No need. At this point it would shouting into the wind. Some day they will figure it out. And as Jack and Ben point out, my decision will be one a president elect Clinton will be very grateful for (though that wasn’t why I did it).

In Exhibit 7, in response to planting a New York Times election-eve hit piece against Trump, then-FBI Director James Comey tells FBI special government employee Daniel Richman: “Well done my friend. Who knew this would. E so uh fun.”

Exhibit 10 shows FBI special government employee Daniel Richman (aka “Michael Garcia”) is leaking–as an anonymous source–to New York Times reporter Michael Schmidt on behalf of then-FBI Director James Comey. Comey testified to the Senate Judiciary Committee he never did this.

For years, Comey has been accused of bending the rules, leaking classified information, and conspiring with media allies to undermine a sitting president. Now, with Exhibit 13 out in the open, those whispers are quickly turning into a paper trail.

But this latest chapter has kicked up more than just legal dust… it’s resurrected one of the strangest, most unnerving patterns of Comey’s career: his habit of using cryptic, coded, or covert messages to communicate behind the scenes.

He’s famous for this type of stuff.

Comey’s always fancied himself a wannabe 007. And that’s where British intelligence expert Svetlana Lokhova comes in. Back in August, she laid out her theory about how Comey might have used pop culture references, even music lyrics, as his own little sneaky communication tools. She pointed out that the FBI’s Trump-Russia operation, “Crossfire Hurricane,” was literally named after a Rolling Stones song, and how the same circle of officials used pop references and song lyrics as code inside their network.

Here’s that video. Watch for yourself.

Collin Rugg:

NEW: Former FBI Director and ‘Swiftie’ James Comey releases a 5-minute video talking about how Taylor Swift inspires him and how she helps him deal with Trump.

“At my second Taylor Swift concert in Hartford, CT, 14 years ago, she sang a song about this topic, asking…”

“Why you gotta be so mean?” Comey said while quoting Swift’s 2010 song ‘Mean’ as he discussed how mean people on X are.

It’s truly mind-blowing that this man served as the FBI director.

Lokhova thinks this could be another layer of his old communication habits making a comeback. She says that Comey has a documented history of using fake names and alternate accounts, including his infamous “Reinhold Niebuhr” persona, to send messages to allies and reporters. She explains that inside that culture, coded language was the “rule.”

Svetlana Lokhova:

“Sing with me and find the key”

Comey has a history of covert communications. Twitter account and email account in fake name, Reinhold Niebuhr (theologist Comey wrote his thesis on) to communicate with co-conspirators in the media and others. The FBI group he led also used fake names, for example Stephen Somma (responsible for FISAs, Steele, Halper) met Carter Page under the name of Steve Holt, moron jerk in Arrested Development. Codenames used also were significant, Stefan Halper, FBI informer and CIA operative, architect of Spygate, had FBI codename Mitch, a fictional character who is a CIA operative operating off-the-books. Christopher Steele’s codename was Crown, implying the information came from British government. The same FBI group used words from songs to convey meaning only known within their tight circle. The FBI Trump-Russia counter-intelligence investigation that Comey ordered was codenamed Crossfire Hurricane. Peter Strzok, the FBI counterintelligence agent who played a central role in launching the investigation, came up with the code name “Crossfire Hurricane.” He explained that the name was inspired by the Rolling Stones song “Jumpin’ Jack Flash”. The movie’s protagonist is a British agent entangled in Russian espionage, contacting an American for help against the KGB. The FBI operation mirrors the film’s setup of a British operative (Steele) relying on U.S.-based aid to counter “Russian threats”. The song plays a key role in the story, as the movie characters bond over their love of the Rolling Stones, and the password to decrypt messages is cracked using references to the band’s music. The movie character receives message from an unknown source signing off as “Jumpin’ Jack Flash. The spy insists on a secure password to proceed with communications, providing a riddle: “Sing with me and find the key.” This is the clue that the solution ties into the Rolling Stones song of the same name, as the spy hints at their mutual love for the band. Both are true fans. Is Comey using Taylor Swift music in a similar way?

Interesting. But Svetlana isn’t done yet.

Now, she’s raising new alarm bells. Lokhova’s latest claim points to Comey’s odd reference to his wife’s phone and a so-called “family” Taylor Swift group chat. She suggests that this may not just be about music or random Swifty banter. It could actually be another communication channel that he’s been using. Especially when you consider that Comey’s daughter, Maureen, was recently fired from her post as Assistant US Attorney, right? The timing and the content of those private messages may deserve a second look.

Sevtlana Lokhova:

Knowing how these people operate, I think someone on @FBIDirectorKash‘s team should check Comey’s wife’s phone.
In his “Taylor Swift” ramble he refers to using Patrice’s (wife’s) phone. During the leak inquiry, investigators pointed out that senior intelligence officials involved in leaks often use spouse’s phones. So Comey could be communicating with co-conspirators on wife’s phone, maybe even under fake name.
He also refers to a “family” Taylor Swift group chat. Given that his daughter is the recently fired Former Assistant United States Attorney Maureen Comey, the conversations in that chat might be not just about pop music. And “family” could include his FBI family, ie Crossfire Hurricane lot. So this group chat needs to be looked at.

Whether or not this theory holds up, one thing is clear: Comey’s “quirky” behavior has always had a pattern, and it’s one that keeps surfacing at all the wrong times. Between the mounting evidence in Exhibit 13 and Lokhova’s analysis of his strange, “coded tendencies,” the picture forming isn’t helping him one bit.
