There’s a controversial, unverified video clip making the rounds online, claiming to show quadruple-murderer Bryan Kohberger in his cell. The clip first appeared on TikTok and was presented as if inmates filmed him through the “vents.” But the more plausible explanation going around is that a prison official risked everything to capture the footage, showing Kohberger cleaning his Crocs, by filming it off a security monitor.

We ran the clip through a couple of AI detection tools, and both suggested it was “likely” not AI-generated but more likely recorded off a screen. That lines up with reports that a staffer may have filmed Kohberger’s cell via the prison’s security feed.

Of course, we can’t confirm that. All we can do is lay out the backstory, share the clip, and let you decide.

The video does appear to have been recorded off a screen, but that doesn’t completely rule out the possibility of AI.

What we can confirm, however, is that Bryan Kohberger is having a rough time in prison. Other inmates have been targeting him, playing psychological games with the OCD germaphobe.

Inews:

Life for convicted quadruple murderer Bryan Kohberger inside the Idaho Maximum Security Institution (IMSI) is defined by relentless psychological torment at the hands of fellow inmates, according to exclusive reports. Sources within the notorious J Block, where Kohberger is housed, describe a campaign of calculated harassment designed to make his existence “absolutely miserable.”

Chris McDonough, Director of the Cold Case Foundation and a retired homicide detective with sources inside IMSI, detailed the disturbing conditions on NewsNation’s Banfield. “The inmates apparently were waiting for him,” McDonough stated, August 13, 2025. “They are now making his life absolutely miserable. They’re utilizing the vent system. They’re kicking the doors. They’re taunting him… And my goodness, he’s complaining.”

As of now, Kohberger hasn’t been physically threatened, but the torment is clearly getting to him. The inews piece continues:

Fellow inmates conspired before his arrival to inflict maximum distress “through using psychology.” Their methods exploit the prison’s physical structure and isolation protocols:

Vent Harassment: Inmates shout taunts and threats through the ventilation system into Kohberger’s cell.
Door Kicking: Persistent banging on cell doors creates constant, unsettling noise.
Relentless Taunting: Verbal abuse is continuous, aiming to break his composure.
McDonough emphasized that while prison guards are obligated to protect inmates from physical harm, they are largely powerless against this psychological onslaught.

This issue has sparked a heated debate online. Do inmates have any expectation of privacy behind bars? And even beyond that, are we giving these homicidal maniacs exactly what they wanted in the first place… more attention by risking jobs, safety, or even criminal charges just to leak a pointless clip of somebody like Kohberger scrubbing a pair of Crocs?
