California strikes again. While average Americans in Los Angeles can’t afford housing, utilities, or even a safe neighborhood to live in, Dems who run the state are busy lining their own pockets. The latest example is LA Councilmember Curren Price, who has now racked up even more corruption charges… This time, he’s accused of steering multimillion-dollar contracts that conveniently funneled over $800,000 straight into his wife’s bank account.

This is California politics in a nutshell: a cesspool of fraud, embezzlement, and pay-to-play corruption. The state is drowning in crime, homelessness, drugs, and sky-high costs of living, but the political class keeps cashing in like it’s the lottery. For regular people, Los Angeles is unlivable. For Democrats like Price, it’s a goldmine.
More than two years after he was accused of embezzlement and perjury, Los Angeles City Councilmember Curren Price faced two additional public corruption charges, the LA County District Attorney’s Office announced Tuesday.
The DA’s office said it uncovered evidence that LA’s housing authority and LA Metro paid Price’s wife more than $800,000 when the councilmember voted to award the agency’s multimillion-dollar contract.
The initial criminal complaint against Price in 2023 also alleged Price had financial interests in projects he voted on and had the city pay for medical benefits for his now-wife, Del Richardson-Price, while he was still married to another woman. He pleaded not guilty to the previous charges.
Price is expected to be arraigned on the new charges Thursday in downtown Los Angeles.
If convicted as charged, he would face up to 11 years and four months in custody, including up to nine years and four months in state prison and up to two years in county jail, according to the DA’s office.
“Embezzling public funds and awarding contracts for your own financial gain is the antithesis of public service,” District Attorney Nathan Hochman said in a statement. “Self-dealing and pay-to-play politics will not be tolerated in Los Angeles County.”
Before these latest charges hit, Price racked up quite an impressive resume of alleged crimes. The NBC piece goes on:
Before the additional charges were announced Tuesday, Price had been charged with five counts of grand theft by embezzlement, three counts of perjury and two counts of conflict of interest by then-District Attorney George Gascon.
Prosecutors had alleged Del Richardson & Associates, a company owned solely by Price’s wife, received payments totaling more than $150,000 between 2019 and 2021 from developers before he voted to approve projects.
Price is also accused of embezzling nearly $33,800 in city funds from 2013-2017 to pay for medical benefits for Richardson, who he falsely claimed was his wife while still legally married to Lynn Suzette Price, according to
the District Attorney’s Office.

The real kick in the chops here is that while all of this is going on, Mr. Price is still working every day on the city council. How that’s allowed is beyond comprehension, unless, of course, you consider that Dems love protecting their own… supporting criminals and keeping them in power is right on brand for the Democrat Party.
