The media’s desperate effort to tie President Trump to the Epstein case just backfired in a big and rather embarrassing way.
In the span of just a few hours, two of the country’s biggest legacy outlets, The Washington Post and The Wall Street Journal, accidentally worked together to clear Trump of any wrongdoing or connection to Epstein’s crimes. And they don’t even realize it…

But Byron York sure did.
Here’s his X post laying it out:
Interesting timeline yesterday. At 4:03pm, Washington Post published an account of known contacts between Trump and Epstein, all of which ended in 2004. Conclusion: ‘No credible allegation has emerged to connect Trump to any of Epstein’s crimes. If the full file is ever released, we are confident that no connection would be found.’ At 6:45pm, Wall Street Journal published much-hyped super-duper bombshell report of elaborate birthday card Trump was said to have given Epstein in January 2003. Got a lot of attention but did not in any way challenge the Post’s conclusion.

Let’s review how this glorious timeline played out:
At 4:03 PM, The Washington Post published a lengthy report detailing Trump’s known interactions with Jeffrey Epstein. They combed through the contacts and concluded that everything ended in 2004. In fact, they flat-out said this:
“No credible allegation has emerged to connect Trump to any of Epstein’s crimes. If the full file is ever released, we are confident that no connection would be found.”
Yes, that’s a direct quote from WAPO, not exactly known for being “Trump friendly.” But even they couldn’t fake a link that doesn’t exist.
Then, just two hours later, at 6:45 PM, The Wall Street Journal, likely thinking they were about to drop a nuclear bomb, published what they hyped up as a “bombshell” story: a birthday card allegedly sent by Donald Trump to Epstein in January 2003.
Yes, 2003.
So let’s do some math, shall we?
The WaPo report says everything ended in 2004. The WSJ “bombshell” takes place in 2003. Trump is on record denying the authenticity of the card altogether. Which means, at the very worst, this entire media cycle has done nothing but reinforce the timeline that clears Trump.
And he knows it.
President Trump responded to the WSJ article with a blistering post on Truth Social, slamming the outlet for printing what he called fake news and accusing them of deliberately trying to revive a dead narrative. Here’s what Trump said on Truth Social:
Trump is right to be furious, but if there’s a silver lining, it’s that the media just cleared him, whether they like it or not.
For months now, we’ve seen online influencers, leftist operatives, and even a few misguided conservatives try to use the Epstein story as a political weapon. They claimed Trump was hiding something. That he was somehow connected. That the client list would ruin him.
But the more we dig, the more obvious it becomes there’s just no “there” there when it comes to President Trump. And honestly, that makes sense. Because if there were even the faintest whiff of Trump being tied to Epstein in any nefarious way, the left would’ve launched that bomb eons ago.

Even the Trump-hating Washington Post can’t manufacture a link. And now, the Wall Street Journal’s best shot actually helps him by validating the same timeline.
So let’s be real, this story is cooked like a goose.
There’s zero evidence connecting Trump to Epstein’s crimes. No credible link. No timeline overlap. And even if that birthday card were somehow legit, which, again, President Trump says it’s not, it proves nothing, except that Trump was exactly where he said he was and walked away long before things turned dark.
The media tried to smear Trump, and instead they gave him a clean bill of health. All they did was make themselves look like fools, yet again, and now, WSJ will likely be facing a massive lawsuit.
