No matter how hard they crash, woke Disney just can’t stop targeting kids. It’s like an obsession. The company is bleeding billions, its creative spark is circling the drain, and audiences have tuned out, but instead of correcting the course, they just keep doubling down on the same tired, unpopular progressive agenda.
What’s the compulsion? Why are they so hellbent on recruiting kids into the LGBTQ alphabet soup army? It’s not entertainment anymore; it’s indoctrination dressed up as animation. And the American people are sick and tired of it.

Just look at the disaster they cooked up with Snow White. What was once a beloved fairy tale turned into a feminist, DEI-driven punchline, complete with a DEI lead actress who openly trashed the original story, attacked Trump supporters, and no human dwarfs in sight. Surprise, surprise, it bombed harder than anyone expected. Dr. Phil took some of the best potshots of all, and honestly, he’s not wrong:
Disney’s Dumb DEI Move. Snow White Never Had Snowball’s Chance.
DEI was always a bad idea because equity is not equality.
Now that we’ve seen a woke Snow White bomb at the box office let’s focus on giving everyone an equal opportunity through hard work, not the easiest path.

You’d think after that embarrassment, Disney might finally get the message: Give people good stories, not lectures, and stop targeting kids, for crying out loud. But nope. Instead, they moved right along to the next train wreck. This time at Pixar.
Disney bought Pixar back in 2006, and ever since, it’s been fully under Disney’s control. So when Pixar pumps out a DEI-flavored flop like this one, that’s not some rogue creative team; that’s Disney, top to bottom.
And this latest story is almost too ridiculous to believe, but it actually happened. Pixar decided it would be a good idea to center a movie around a gay 11-year-old boy, push it through the DEI pipeline, and then act shocked when nobody recommended it at test screenings. Things got so bad that the original director got fired, actress America Ferrera quit in some goofy, symbolic protest, and after a bunch of rewrites, the movie still flopped. Hard.
Kind of a blockbuster here: Pixar made a movie about a gay 11-year-old; at a test screening not a single viewer raised their hand to recommend it; gay Latino director fired; America Ferrera quit b/c of this; movie reworked and flopped.

According to Pixar insiders, Elio was originally designed as a queer kid with a love of “trash fashion.” The movie also included not-so-subtle hints that Elio had a crush on another boy and spent his free time making capes out of garbage. Because apparently, this is what Pixar thinks parents want to pay to watch with their kids. What parent doesn’t want a queer, garbage-loving child?

But when test audiences stared blankly at the screen in horror and gave it a resounding “no thanks,” Disney quietly scrubbed the more obvious “woke” content and made Elio a little more “masculine.” Still, the weird queer energy never really went away, and what was left on screen felt like a watered-down version of an identity politics animation freak show. Needless to say, audiences rejected it, and the box office did too.
Those who worked at Pixar while its latest film release, Elio, was in production were delighted by footage they saw roughly two years ago. Among the moments cited as favorites by those at the animation studio at the time included a sequence in which the titular boy collected trash on the beach and turned it into homemade apparel that included a pink tank top; the movie’s team would refer to Elio showing this off to a hermit crab as his “trash-ion show.”
But if you bought a ticket to Elio and don’t remember seeing this, it’s not just that you chose the wrong time to refill your soda. According to multiple insiders who spoke to The Hollywood Reporter, Elio was initially portrayed as a queer-coded character, reflecting original director Adrian Molina’s identity as an openly gay filmmaker.
Other sources say that Molina did not intend the film to be a coming out story, as the character is 11. But either way, this characterization gradually faded away throughout the production process as Elio became more masculine following feedback from leadership. Gone were not only such direct examples of his passion for environmentalism and fashion, but also a scene in Elio’s bedroom with pictures suggesting a male crush. Hints at the trash fashion remain in the released film, with the boy wearing a cape decorated with discarded cutlery and soda can tabs, although without any explanation for the unusual attire.
Elio was doomed long before it ever hit theaters. This wasn’t just a case of bad marketing or bad luck; the woke red flags were flapping in the wind a year before opening weekend.
Back in 2023, Pixar held a test screening for Elio in Arizona, hoping to get a sense of how the public would respond. And while some attendees gave polite feedback, the real gut punch came when they were asked one simple question: “Would you pay to see this in theaters?” Not a single hand went up.
Ouch.
Now, that moment should have been the 800th wake-up call for Disney. Instead, they did what they always do… ignored reality, stayed hitched to the failing narrative, and kept shoveling money into a project the audience rejected. The Hollywood Reporter piece goes on:
Elio’s turbulent ride began well before its calamitous nosedive at the box office durin the June 20-22 corridor. Indeed, the summer of 2023 became a fateful one for the animated film about a lonely boy beamed into outer space by an intergalactic organization after being misidentified as the leader of Earth. The writing was first on the wall for the troubled production when the film from Molina, known as the co-director of Pixar’s Oscar-winning 2017 hit Coco, conducted an early test screening in Arizona. Although viewers expressed how much they enjoyed the movie, they were also asked how many of them would see it in a theater, and not a single hand was raised, according to a source with knowledge of the event. This sounded alarm bells for studio brass.
At the end of the day, parents aren’t looking for movies about queer kids in trash capes. They want their kids entertained, not indoctrinated into some bizarre “queer and recycling” lifestyle cooked up in a DEI boardroom by creepy Disney/Pixar execs.

Disney used to understand that. Now they’re just burning what’s left of their reputation chasing applause from activist weirdos while families walk away in droves.
