When Joe Biden made his power grab in 2020, he didn’t waste time pretending to be a unifier. As a matter of fact, one of the very first things his weaponized DOJ did, just two days after Inauguration Day, was launch a political hit job on Douglass Mackey, a young conservative mover and shaker who dared to mock Hillary Clinton with a satirical meme back in 2016.

Many believe that move was a test run, a little judicial experiment to see if the regime could jail someone for speech. Could they twist a funny meme into a federal crime? Could they use lawfare to crush dissent and lay the groundwork for the lawless prosecutions against Trump and his supporters down the line?

Turns out, they could. And they did… that and a whole lot more.

But in the end, it all blew up in their faces when Mackey’s conviction was tossed out.

Revolver:

The wheels of justice move slowly, and sometimes they blow a tire and go careening right off a cliff. But if you’re built for battle and grounded in truth, the tide does eventually turn. Justice has a way of catching up.

That’s exactly what we’re seeing today. The US Court of Appeals has just thrown out Douglass Mackey’s conviction for posting a clearly satirical anti-Hillary meme back in 2016.

This case was an anti-American, immoral sham from day one.

In 2023, Mackey was dragged into a New York courtroom and convicted of “conspiring to deprive citizens of their right to vote,” all because of a joke meme he shared back in 2016. Mind you, this was a meme that didn’t stop a single solitary American citizen from voting. But hey, that little fact didn’t matter to the lawless Biden DOJ.

They needed a scalp. So they made an example out of a young husband and father. He was smeared, humiliated, hauled through a political show trial, and forced to miss the birth of his own son, a special needs baby, by the way, all while the regime celebrated his conviction.

But to his credit, Mackey never took a sham plea deal. He never begged for a pardon. He fought. And he won big.

Revolver:

A federal appeals court has not only tossed out the conviction, but they also reversed it entirely and told the lower court to enter a judgment of acquittal. In plain terms, they just told the world that Mackey is not guilty.

This ruling wasn’t from some MAGA-friendly court either. The Second Circuit Court of Appeals is one of the most liberal in the country, and yet they ruled unanimously in Mackey’s favor. Yes, even the left-wing judges agreed that this was not justice. It was political revenge.

And just moments after the decision came down, Douglass Mackey spoke exclusively to Revolver News about the ruling:

“This judgment by the highly respected Second Circuit Court of Appeals totally vindicates my defense all along: I never joined a conspiracy to steal votes and never intended to steal anyone’s vote. Memes are jokes, not crimes, and should be protected free speech. More importantly, this decision pounds another nail into the coffin of government weaponization and politicization against President Donald J. Trump and his supporters. I look forward to further vindication in the weeks and months ahead as I turn my sights towards a long train of abuses by the EDNY and FBI.”

That’s a man who stood his ground. And now, his real fight begins.

And the wins just keep coming. After the court tossed his conviction, Elon Musk reinstated Mackey’s legendary “Ricky Vaughn” account, a pro-Trump online force that had been suspended for years.

This follows a federal appeals court decision to overturn the conviction of its owner, Douglass Mackey, who was charged under the Biden administration for posting anti-Hillary memes.

The Biden regime tried to erase Doug… but now he’s back and stronger than ever.

Sources close to Mackey say he plans to sue the DOJ for the years they stole from him, for what they did to his family, and for the message they tried to send to every American: stay silent, toe the progressive line, or we will destroy you.

And he’s not alone in calling them out. Look at this blistering X post from Chad Mizelle, the Chief of Staff at the Department of Justice under Pam Bondi.

One of the Biden DOJ’s very first actions—on January 22, 2021, just two days into the Biden administration—was to initiate a criminal prosecution to try to send a self-described X “troll” to federal prison just for posting or reposting three political memes during the 2016 presidential election (four years earlier) that could have hurt Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

Last week, almost a decade after Douglass Mackey posted those memes, the Second Circuit has rightly vacated his unjust conviction.

The Second Circuit’s decision cannot undo the last four years of the Biden DOJ’s unjust prosecution. But it is a good first step toward justice for Douglass Mackey, and @TheJusticeDept will work to ensure prosecutions like this do not happen again.

This is what real justice looks like—celebrating free speech wins. Not the lawless, Soviet-style show trials we watched under Biden. This sounds like a real course correction, but sadly, one that took years, pain, and sacrifice to finally see the light of day.

And that’s why Doug Mackey’s victory isn’t just his own. It belongs to every American who refused to be silenced. Every patriot who’s been mocked, doxxed, censored, fired, and threatened for speaking the truth.

Doug beat the Deep State at its own game, and he did it without selling out or backing down.

But his fight isn’t over. It’s just getting started. And when Mackey holds these DOJ tyrants accountable, maybe then the scales of justice will start tipping back where they belong.
