Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel has made her priorities crystal clear.

Back in July 2023, she charged 16 Republican electors with 8 felonies each for submitting an “alternate slate” during the sham 2020 election, a totally legal safeguard used in other elections when litigation was involved or pending. These American citizens, many of them seniors and grassroots Republicans, were following precedent, not plotting some goofy coup. Yet Nessel didn’t care. She shamelessly branded them as criminals, weaponizing her office and abusing her power to punish political dissent.

Back in 2023, Dem Congressman Dan Goldman was spreading the “fake electors” lie. Canadian conservative activist and lawyer called him out with this blistering tweet.

Alternate* electors are NOT “fake” electors.

And they were to be presented as such – an alternate slate of electors on the basis that the original slate of electors was the result of fraud – errr…. I mean, “fortification” (which is admitted).

It was in fact a legitimate legal theory that results from acknowledged vagueness of the statute. So much so that lawmakers have proposed legislation to clarify / limit the potential loophole.

So no. No fraud. And you know this. Except you are a liar. And, I dare say, the true fraudster

It was all a hoax.

Fast forward to today, and lawfare princess Dana Nessel just dropped all charges against seven pro-Palestinian protesters who caused violent chaos at the University of Michigan and aggressively resisted police. Her excuse is some inappropriate letter from a Jewish community group and a “slow-moving” court.

Detroit Free Press:

Nessel cited an inappropriate letter of support from the Jewish Federation of Greater Ann Arbor sent to the court as a factor in her decision.

The protesters, originally facing felony charges for resisting and obstructing police, celebrated the dismissal.

Nessel defended her initial decision to pursue felony charges based on evidence and criticized the judge for the slow pace of the case.

Defense lawyers argued the charges criminalized free speech.

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel has dropped all charges against seven pro-Palestinian protesters arrested last year on the University of Michigan Diag.

The seven were facing misdemeanor charges of trespassing as well as felony charges of resisting and obstructing police. The defendants in the cases were: Oliver Kozler, Samantha Lewis, Henry MacKeen-Shapiro, Michael Mueller, Asad Siddiqui, Avi Tachna-Fram and Rhiannon Willow. All had pleaded not guilty.

The group hugged each other, smiled and posed for a photo with their attorneys in the courtroom after learning the news.

The message is clear as day: if you’re a conservative challenging the corrupt system, expect prosecution. If you’re a leftist agitator, you’ll get a pass.

This isn’t justice. It’s political persecution. And it’s happening in plain sight, and for some reason, it’s allowed to continue.

Dana’s sham charges against these patriotic Americans are shameful and a clear abuse of power. It’s yet another textbook example of left-wing lawfare. Investigative reporter Julie Kelly called her out perfectly: the Wicked Witch of Michigan rides again…

This type of lawfare keeps happening because Dems play dirty and Republicans rarely fight back. Dems bend the rules, push the limits, and get away with it because no one holds them accountable. That needs to change.

Trump’s DOJ should already be laying the groundwork to expose these abuses and hold every one of these lawfare agents to the fire. If that means getting creative and fighting smarter, so be it. The Left shows up on every battlefield, ready to tear us to shreds.

It’s time we do the same.
