We can all agree—there’s no bigger Zelensky/Ukraine cheerleader than warhawk Lindsey Graham. So, when he bails, you know things are going south fast. That’s exactly what happened after Zelensky’s so-called apology tour on Fox News with Bret Baier, where he addressed the now-infamous Oval Office showdown with President Trump and JD Vance.
You can watch the entire showdown below:
Extremely TENSE exchange at White House between Zelensky and Trump/Vance: Watch…
What was supposed to be a routine peace deal signing—securing mineral rights for the US as a first step toward repaying the hundreds of billions we sent to Ukraine—quickly spiraled into total chaos. Due to Zelensky’s defiant attitude and blatant disregard for President Trump, the White House, and the American people, what should have been a diplomatic exchange instead devolved into a political WWE-style showdown—one where President Trump and JD Vance emerged as the undeniable victors.
After the showdown, President Trump took to Truth Social, where he published this statement:
Long story short—after rejecting the mineral deal twice, Zelensky finally agreed to sign on the dotted line. But the second the cameras started rolling, he flipped the script, thinking he could play to the American people and the media and force Trump’s hand.

Big mistake.
There it is. Trump Cabinet member Scott Bessent says Zelensky already twice refused to sign a minerals deal with the U.S. under Trump. Twice. This 3rd time was most definitely planned.

After getting booted from the White House by President Trump and told to come back when he was serious about peace, Zelensky scrambled to do damage control. He appeared on Fox News with Bret Baier, offering up what many are calling a very weak apology.
NEW: President Zelensky apologizes at the end of his interview with Fox’s Bret Baier, says he thinks he can repair his relationship with Trump.
Baier: “Do you think your relationship with President Trump after today can be salvaged?”
Zelensky: “It can be. Yes, of course… This is very very important and we are thankful and sorry for this.”

But when Baier played a clip of Ukraine-obsessed Lindsey Graham doing a complete 180, Zelensky was left stammering. Graham, a notorious warmonger and usually one of Ukraine’s biggest cheerleaders, shocked everyone by praising Trump and JD Vance for how they handled the tense Oval Office showdown—going so far as to say he doesn’t see how the US can ever work with Ukraine again. In other words, even Lindsey thinks Zelensky crossed the line. Also, judging by his awkward, yammering response, Zelensky realized in real time that he had just made a huge mistake.

Aside from Zelensky’s obvious shock at his buddy Lindsey’s betrayal, another eyebrow-raising moment came when Baier asked if he’d be willing to step down to broker peace. Zelensky’s response was odd, to say the least. He claimed that only the Ukrainian people can pick their leader. Really? This coming from the guy who canceled elections…
Apparently, there’s no time for elections in Ukraine—but plenty of time for glossy Vogue spreads and PR photo ops with Ben Stiller.
In the end, will Zelensky’s so-called apology on Fox News make a difference? Can he recover from this massive political blunder? Probably not. He’s backed himself into a real corner here—especially now that his biggest Republican ally, Lindsey Graham, has cut and run. Zelensky walked into the White House already out of cards, and after that failed PR stunt with President Trump and Vice President JD Vance, he’s in the red. Big time.

His best move now is to swallow his pride, embrace peace, and sign the mineral deal. The only other option is to step down and let the Ukrainian people actually choose their leader—because at this point, it’s hard to imagine anyone with common sense wanting this reckless, misguided tyrant calling the shots.
