Well, it finally happened. Five years later, the mainstream media has caught on to the real science and facts and declared the lockdowns were a disaster and actually did more harm than good.

In the end, it turns out they were wrong—disastrously wrong. But don’t expect an apology. They won’t condemn the fake science they blindly followed, and they certainly won’t beg for forgiveness for calling us conspiracy theorists or deplatforming us for daring to speak common sense in the middle of their theatrical hysteria.

A groundbreaking new study commissioned by Revolver News concludes that COVID-19 lockdowns are ten times more deadly than the actual COVID-19 virus in terms of years of life lost by American citizens.

Up until this point there had been no simple, rigorous analysis that accurately and definitively conveys the true costs of the COVID-19 lockdowns. Accordingly, Revolver News set out to commission a study to do precisely that: to finally quantify the net damage of the lockdowns in terms of a metric known as “life-years.” Simply put, we have drawn upon existing economic studies on the health effects of unemployment to calculate an estimate of how many years of life will have been lost due to the lockdowns in the United States, and have weighed this against an estimate of how many years of life will have been saved by the lockdowns. The results are nothing short of staggering, and suggest that the lockdowns will end up costing Americans over 10 times as many years of life as they will save from the virus itself.

The COVID-19 lockdown measures that Americans have had to endure for the greater part of 2020 represent one of the most dramatic, consequential, and damaging policy measures undertaken in this nation’s history. For the first time in its history, America has experienced a situation so crippling and perilous that long term financial and social stability have been legitimately threatened.

As with everything in 2020 America, these lockdown measures have become deeply politicized. President Trump opposes further devastating lockdowns. In his recent Republican National Convention speech, President Trump raised the point that lockdowns have had very real and very devastating effects on the lives of many Americans.

President Trump: “The cost of the Biden shutdown would be measured in increased drug overdoses, depression, alcohol addiction, suicides, heart attacks, economic devastation, job loss and much more.  Joe Biden’s plan is not a solution to the virus, but, rather, it’s a surrender to the virus.”

And as we know, Biden vowed to follow the science and lock us down even harder if he was installed.

Readers of Revolver have known the truth about Covid-19 for well over a year now. The truth, reduced to a few key and essential facts, is as follows:

  • Covid-19 is, overall, not that deadly, and getting less deadly all the time.
  • Most of those who die of Covid are already unwell, often extremely unwell.
  • Most interventions to contain Covid, in particular lockdowns and ubiquitous masking, don’t work.
  • Children are nearly immune to Covid and do very little to spread it.
  • In terms of effect on America’s prosperity, stability, health, and mental well-being, the “cures” for Covid have been far more harmful than the disease itself.
  • For the past year, stating these facts could get a person banned from Facebook or shut down on YouTube and Twitter.

Sadly, back then, the media and our leaders weren’t interested in facts—they were obsessed with hysteria and control. And as a result, the lockdown madness only got worse.

As the years have gone by, one thing has become crystal clear—the lockdowns didn’t work. Revolver News ran a scientific cost-benefit analysis back in 2020 that turned out to be quite prescient it, and now, five years later, the so-called “esteemed” legacy media is finally catching up.

Australia’s leaders are making a disastrous, idiotic, and irrevocable mistake. It is a mistake in which leaders sacrifice both the soul of their democracy and the well-being of their citizens on the altar of a false god: the god of Covid-Zero. They have claimed that this sacrifice is necessary to keep citizens safe, that it will keep them safe, and that there is simply no other choice. But each of these claims is a lie. As with all such idolatry, their sacrifice will bring them no favor. It has brought, and will continue to bring them, only ruin.

For much of the past year, Australian state governments have instituted and enforced what are perhaps the world’s strictest Covid lockdowns. Calling such lockdowns draconian doesn’t do justice to the way they have curtailed the liberties of every single resident–including those posing no health risk to others. For 200 days since the pandemic began, Melbourne has been subject to an order in which, on pain of fines or even imprisonment, its citizens are only allowed out of their homes for five reasons: to buy food or supplies, for two hours of daily outdoor exercise, to provide necessary care, to do authorized work that cannot be done from home, and to get vaccinated.

Sydney is currently in the ninth week of a lockdown in which individuals can be fined $5000 for leaving their homes for even fewer reasons. The capital of Australia, Canberra, is also in lockdown, with nearly every business closed, the whole city required to wear masks outside of their homes—whether indoors or outdoors— and granted a mere 1 hour of outdoor exercise per day.

The lockdown regulations are arbitrary; many of them make no sense at all. People cannot sit outside in public places—even by themselves, far from anyone else—without being harassed by police or fined. Playgrounds and public parks are closed. Nature reserves are closed. Beaches are closed. In both Sydney and Melbourne, a curfew is in effect: citizens cannot be out of their homes after 9pm or before 5am, for any reason, even though police say that this makes lockdown enforcement more difficult rather than less. Worse, the lockdowns are indefinite, and indefinitely extended: one week turns into a month, which turns into six months—there is no realistic end in sight.

Interstate travel is impossible—nearly every state border is closed and tightly controlled—and international travel is nearly unthinkable. There is a federal ban on outgoing travel—the only one of it’s kind among purported democracies—according to which Australian citizens can only leave the country for an impossibly short list of reasons, and only after applying for an exemption from the federal government, most of which are denied. Worse, since the federal government has strict caps on the number of people who can arrive each week, many Australians cannot even return home from overseas. Their citizenship is now effectively worthless.

Now, the media wants a pat on the back for finally reporting the truth—a truth we’ve known and reported on for five years. A truth that we, and countless others, were demonized for even mentioning. People had their lives destroyed simply for daring to question the COVID narrative, for suggesting that maybe we were heading down the wrong road. Any dissent was met with swift punishment—smearing your name, destroying your business, and erasing you from society.

Yet, in the end, they were wrong. And the people they silenced were right. But don’t expect an apology—we don’t want one anyway. What we do want is to make sure these power-hungry entities never again have the ability to unleash this kind of global terror. The best way to do that is to keep speaking out, keep rejecting propaganda, and never stop questioning the so-called “experts.” Because if COVID taught us anything, it’s that just because someone has “doctor” or “scientist” in their title doesn’t mean they know what’s best for you, your family, or your country.

The world learned that lesson the hard way. Let’s make sure we never forget it.
