Zelensky is now looking for a peace deal with President Trump.
The Ukrainian leader now says he “regrets” his behavior inside the Oval Office and he’s ready to work along side President Trump’s leadership to find a path to peace.
Clearly, Zelensky figured out, he was out of options.
Volodymyr Zelensky has insisted he is ready to work under Donald Trump’s ‘strong leadership’ and wants to ‘make things right’ after their ‘regrettable’ White House row.
The wartime leader today said in a post to X that he was keen to agree on a truce in the sky and sea ‘immediately, if Russia will do the same.’
It comes after senior British government sources warned that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s position may be untenable without access to American military aid.
[…]
An anonymous senior official told The Times that Ukraine could ‘last a matter of months, maybe less’ unless the flow of support from Washington resumes.
The Ukrainians “cannot hold the line” without US support, British government sources believe, with the Americans providing “the cream” of the weapons sent to the country.
About 20 per cent of the military hardware that is in Ukraine at the moment comes from the US, according to western officials. Some 25 per cent comes from Europe, including the UK, and other nations. About 55 per cent is funded by Ukraine and comes from Ukrainian production, officials said.
Yet “there is a difference in quality and that 20 per cent from America literally is the cream and is the most lethal aspects and the most important aspects,” said one official. They spoke before President Trump paused military aid to Ukraine on Monday night — a policy that is effective immediately — after a the shouting match with President Zelensky in the White House on Friday.

This complete 180 comes after Ukraine’s parliament signaled they want to work with President Trump to find a path to peace. The Daily Mail article goes on:
Zelensky wrote: ‘None of us wants an endless war. Ukraine is ready to come to the negotiating table as soon as possible to bring lasting peace closer. Nobody wants peace more than Ukrainians.
‘My team and I stand ready to work under President Trump’s strong leadership to get a peace that lasts.
‘We are ready to work fast to end the war, and the first stages could be the release of prisoners and truce in the sky — ban on missiles, long-ranged drones, bombs on energy and other civilian infrastructure — and truce in the sea immediately, if Russia will do the same.
‘Then we want to move very fast through all next stages and to work with the US to agree a strong final deal.
‘We do really value how much America has done to help Ukraine maintain its sovereignty and independence. And we remember the moment when things changed when President Trump provided Ukraine with Javelins. We are grateful for this.
Zelensky’s timing couldn’t have been better planned. With President Trump set to address Congress tonight, there’s a good chance this saga will be front and center in his speech. The Daily Mail piece wraps up:
‘Our meeting in Washington, at the White House on Friday, did not go the way it was supposed to be. It is regrettable that it happened this way. It is time to make things right.
‘We would like future cooperation and communication to be constructive. Regarding the agreement on minerals and security, Ukraine is ready to sign it in any time and in any convenient format.
‘We see this agreement as a step toward greater security and solid security guarantees, and I truly hope it will work effectively.’
Zelensky’s sudden about-face proves that his little tantrum didn’t win him any real support—outside of US liberals. Even his own countrymen were frustrated, and while Europe made the right noises in support of Zelensky, they’re incapable of defending themselves on their own and ultimately have to follow America’s lead.

Once again, President Trump demonstrated true world leadership. Now, hopefully, we’re finally on the road to peace.
