Back in 2015, when Trump was a presidential candidate he was waving “red flags” over the US involvement in Syria. Trump was the only candidate questioning our support of the anti-Assad rebel factions without fully understanding their vision. Trump suggested that it would likely be a better, more stable idea to maintain the “status quo” with Bashar al-Assad than empowering these unknown rebel groups.

Sounds reasonable, right? But of course, Trump was criticized for his common-sense stance. Meanwhile, Obama was out there touting how “Assad must go.” Here he is with Justin Trudeau, another failed left-wing politician who was just ousted from public office, demanding Assad be taken out to end the civil war.

Fast forward to recent developments, and Trump’s 2015 stance is validated. In other words, Trump was right… again.

The fall of Assad’s regime in December 2024 led to a power vacuum that was rapidly filled by an Islamist faction called Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, also known as “HTS.” This extremist group, led by Ahmed al-Sharaa, has taken control of Damascus, and now, fears are flowing about the future of Syria under their radical rule.

President Trump saw this coming a decade ago, while our establishment politicians—who lack any vision—didn’t.

Cillian:

Donald Trump in 2015:

“The problem in Syria is we have no idea who the other side are. Maybe we’re better off with Assad. We give (the Rebels) weapons and ammunition but, to me, Assad looks better than the other side.”

How right he was! 💯

Let’s not forget—Tulsi Gabbard was ripped apart by the left, the right, and the fake news media for saying this exact same thing. And she was also right.

Now, the new Syrian leader is accused of being responsible for the massacres of more than 1,000 people.

Christians are feeling, fearing that the radical jihadists who now run the country with an iron fist will slaughter them.

You won’t see this in the mainstream media:

This is yet another massive foreign policy failure by our elected and unelected officials—people with no vision beyond what lines their pockets and keeps them in control of this global chess game. Let’s not forget, Obama created ISIS the same way—by funding the “rebels” in a proxy war against Syria.

Watch:

Obama then dismissed ISIS as the “JV team” and mocked anyone who warned they could become a serious threat. He was wrong—yet again.

The Strategist:

The JV team: It’s difficult to interpret Obama’s description of ISIS as a ‘JV team’ as anything but a misunderstanding of the threat it poses. In response to a question about ISIS’s resurgence in Iraq, Obama stated on 7 January 2014: ‘…I think the analogy we use around here sometimes, and I think is accurate, is if a JV team put on Lakers uniforms, that doesn’t make them Kobe Bryant.’ Less than six months later, ISIS controlled swathes of territory across Syria and Iraq, had announced the establishment of its Caliphate and, by the end of 2014, had established transnational wilayats across the Middle East, Africa and the Subcontinent. The perceived complacency of the West, reflected in a delayed response to the ISIS threat, is often the centrepiece of conspiracy theories describing Western complicity in the movement’s meteoric rise. An example of rhetoric’s potential for unintended ‘blowback’ effects.

Once again, Trump was right—this time about Assad and Syria. And once again, the so-called “experts” who ran foreign policy before him were wildly wrong. These establishment relics have spent decades recycling the same failed strategies, propping up the wrong players, and destabilizing entire regions. But this isn’t just about being wrong—it’s about the deadly consequences. Their reckless moves have fueled chaos, empowered terrorists, and cost countless lives.

Maybe it’s time we stop listening to the people who keep getting it wrong and start paying attention to the one guy who keeps getting it right.
