The Post’s front page of Trump mug shot adorns wall outside Oval Office

WASHINGTON — The Post’s front page showing President Trump’s Georgia mug shot was spotted Thursday on a wall just outside the Oval Office — indicating the 45th and 47th president isn’t embarrassed by the snap and may even view it as motivation as he begins his second term.

The framed newspaper is in the office of Trump’s secretaries — between the Oval Office and the Cabinet Room — in a space that often serves as an entrance for guests.

The surprising decorating choice was revealed during Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit when the leaders were seated in front of the Oval Office’s fireplace — with the door behind Trump left open.

Trump’s decision to give the image a place of honor indicates he’s not ashamed of becoming the first-ever president subjected to a mug shot, which he was at the time believed to have dreaded.

The Fulton County case began to unravel when District Attorney Fani Willis, an elected Democrat, was exposed for having a secret relationship with attorney Nathan Wade, whom she hired to prosecute the then-ex-president.

That case was one of four lodged against Trump after he declared his intention to seek a non-consecutive second term in the White House.

Trump was convicted last year on 34 felony counts in New York for falsifying business records to conceal 2016 hush-money payments and faced federal charges for challenging the 2020 results and for allegedly mishandling classified documents.

He is appealing the New York verdict and the remaining three cases are not proceeding.

Trump alleges that the cases amounted to “lawfare” by Democrats to derail his political movement.
