Teenage lovers try to hide their faces after 'murdering grandma and fleeing to Mexico'
A Texas teenager and her boyfriend tried to hide their faces from news cameras as they were charged with the murder of her grandmother.
Tara King, 17, and Uriah Urick, 18, were seen being perp walked in prison uniforms into Galveston County Jail by officials earlier this week following the death of Tammy King.
The two have been both been charged with capital murder and credit or debit card abuse in connection with the death of King.
The couple had been arrested in Laredo, near the Mexican border, on Sunday in connection with the shooting of King, who was found dead at her home in Bacliff on Thursday by her boyfriend.
He had called the Galveston County Sheriff's Office to report that he was worried for her welfare after being unable to reach her.
After forcing entry into the home, he found her dead in her bedroom and had suffered a possible gunshot wound to the left side of her head.
Court documents seen by KHOU say that authorities believe King died in the early hours of February 5, the day before she was found.
Her boyfriend told authorities her house had been ransacked and that guns had been stolen from the safe in her bedroom.
