Not so long ago, Hollywood was this fantastical dream factory—a place where entertainers focused on dazzling the heck out of audiences, not lecturing them on how they should live their lives. But somewhere along the way, the industry took the hardest left turn ever. It became less about talent and more about ideological purity. Like a religion, where everybody was trying to outdo their friends and colleagues with their progressive “faith” The message was clear: if you wanted to reach the highest pinnacles of fame, you needed to prove your devotion to the progressive religion. And Hollywood was more than happy to reward those who did.

Taylor Swift is a prime example. She built her career as a non-political pop star, beloved by millions for her catchy songs and girl-next-door persona. She truly was the “All American Girl.” But in 2018, she took to Instagram and with a very calculated decision: she publicly declared her allegiance to the left.

Taylor Swift:

I’m writing this post about the upcoming midterm elections on November 6th, in which I’ll be voting in the state of Tennessee. In the past I’ve been reluctant to publicly voice my political opinions, but due to several events in my life and in the world in the past two years, I feel very differently about that now. I always have and always will cast my vote based on which candidate will protect and fight for the human rights I believe we all deserve in this country. I believe in the fight for LGBTQ rights, and that any form of discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender is WRONG.

I believe that the systemic racism we still see in this country towards people of color is terrifying, sickening and prevalent.

I cannot vote for someone who will not be willing to fight for dignity for ALL Americans, no matter their skin color, gender or who they love. Running for Senate in the state of Tennessee is a woman named Marsha Blackburn. As much as I have in the past and would like to continue voting for women in office, I cannot support Marsha Blackburn. Her voting record in Congress appalls and terrifies me. She voted against equal pay for women. She voted against the Reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act, which attempts to protect women from domestic violence, stalking, and date rape.

She believes businesses have a right to refuse service to gay couples. She also believes they should not have the right to marry.

These are not MY Tennessee values. I will be voting for Phil Bredesen for Senate and Jim Cooper for House of Representatives. Please, please educate yourself on the candidates running in your state and vote based on who most closely represents your values. For a lot of us, we may never find a candidate or party with whom we agree 100% on every issue, but we have to vote anyway.
So many intelligent, thoughtful, self-possessed people have turned 18 in the past two years and now have the right and privilege to make their vote count. But first you need to register, which is quick and easy to do. October 9th is the LAST DAY to register to vote in the state of TN. Go to vote.org and you can find all the info. Happy Voting! 🗳😃🌈

That rainbow at the end said it all, right?

And almost overnight, her status shifted. She wasn’t just a regular ol’ popular singer anymore—she was an untouchable cultural icon, and a force of nature, showered with over-the-top adoration and new business opportunities. Sure, Taylor picked political losers every step of the way, but that didn’t matter. Hollywood wasn’t rewarding her for her political instincts; they knew she sucked at that. It was rewarding her for taking the progressive pledge. And just like that, Ms. Swift was elevated to a whole new level of superstardom.

Even a flop like Cats – part of her reward for “coming out,” couldn’t slow her down—her transformation was complete. She drank the Kool-Aid, and now, she’d reap the benefits.

But Swift wasn’t alone, many others did the same thing, albeit in different ways, but the “coming out” part was all the same.

Robert De Niro, Rosie O’Donnell, and Jimmy Kimmel (among others) all followed the same basic blueprint. The angrier their TDS was, the more applause they got from their peers. It became so insane, that the Oscars weren’t about honoring great films anymore; it was a contest of who could hate Trump the most. And the winner would get the most praise, the best roles, and the most industry respect and reverence imaginable. Kevin Hart, who faced the wrath of cancel culture, suddenly had his reputation magically restored when he came out against Trump. It was a pattern, over and over again: loyalty to the left paid big time in Hollywood’s safe little bubble.

But while Hollywood was busy patting itself on the back, the real world was shifting.

For a while, the anti-Trump wave was very profitable. Late-night TV ratings soared as comedians turned their shows into unwatchable political therapy sessions. Hollywood elites were convinced they were on the right side of history, reinforcing each other’s delusions at award shows. The red carpet became a radical, progressive catwalk from hell. Beyoncé, Oprah, and Jennifer Lopez threw their reputations behind political candidates who were more PR than substance. It didn’t matter if their chosen leaders were disasters—they were their disasters, beloved by Hollywood, and that was enough. That was everything.

But as with everything, reality eventually hit.

First, it was Joe Biden—a feeble, incoherent buffoon the media and Hollywood desperately tried to prop up as the most amazing president in US history. But no amount of spin could hide the truth from the American people. The economy tanked, foreign policy disasters piled up, and suddenly, Hollywood’s glowing endorsements didn’t hold the same weight. Americans were giving celebrities the side-eye.

But the real breaking point came with Kamala Harris.

Hollywood bet big on Kamala.

She checked every box the left loves—woman, minority, progressive—but they forgot one critical thing: competence. Kamala Harris was a DEI train wreck from day one, and no amount of celebrity worship could save her. The same Hollywood stars who once commanded major cultural influence and power, hitched their wagon to the biggest political dud of our lifetime, but they believed so little in her, that they demanded payment for their “support” and then lied about it.

So, when Kamala went down, they went down with her.

We found this amazing TikTok clip that perfectly explains this phenomena. It’s definitely worth a watch:

That’s when Taylor’s big moment finally came – the moment that changed everything. Taylor Swift—the same woman who had been elevated to practically “mythic status” for her progressive devotion—was booed at the Super Bowl. And think about it, this was neutral ground, a place where average American gathered to enjoy an All-American pastime.

And yet, when she appeared on the big screen, the reaction wasn’t love and adoration—it was mockery and rejection. And her face said it all. She couldn’t believe what she was hearing. In that moment, the Hollywood bubble popped, not just for Taylor, but for everybody. They all knew… it was over.

The truth is, for years, these pompous celebrities believed they were invincible. They convinced themselves that their industry’s reward system was a real-life reflection of how America felt about them. They thought they could dictate culture and politics without any consequences whatsoever. Who could forget that cringeworthy nightmare when celebrities thought they could heal the world by butchering John Lennon’s “Imagine” off key?

Thanks to social media, the illusion that celebrities dictate culture has been totally shattered. The people—the real people—laughed them into irrelevance. Now, Hollywood isn’t just dying; it’s decomposing in real-time, with these self-righteous elites as the corpses lining the road.

About time, right?

The University News:

The mass introduction of social media irrevocably changed how the public viewed celebrities. With superstars able to post any picture they wanted, fans were allowed a new look into their lives, effectively “de-mystifying” the allure of the 2000s icon. Celebrities became just like us, posting exactly how any average twenty-something would with their friends.

However, this posed a new, ongoing problem. As fans were provided a more intimate look into the personal lives of celebrities, they started to feel as if they knew these people personally. Celebrities’ efforts to appear normal backfired, as fans’ simple adoration turned to obsession.

Fans began feeling deeply connected, forgetting they did not know these people. They started to feel as if celebrities owed them something for their devotion. Behaviors such as stalking celebrities for photos, commenting vulgar things under TikTok edits and discussing celebrities’ issues as if they knew them personally became normalized.

[…]

Since 2020, celebrity obsession has started to dwindle. In March of that year, COVID-19 hit, illuminating the vast differences in the lives of celebrities and the public. The majority of Americans were worried about keeping their jobs, paying rent and providing for their families.

When celebrities tried to comfort fans by offering advice and, unfortunately, covering John Lennon’s “Imagine,” it felt like a slap in the face. As they posted these videos from the comfort of their mansions with millions of dollars to fall back on, the American public was in chaos.

Their efforts to relate to the struggle of the average American only made it more obvious how out of touch most celebrities are. Fans started criticizing celebrities left and right for their controversial opinions, involvement in sex trafficking scandals and loss of reality.

Americans realized they were facing a multitude of crises — rising costs of living, extreme weather and a polarized and dangerous political climate — so, who has the time to worry about what celebrities are doing?

The concept of the “celebrity” is not going away any time soon, but celebrity culture is dying.

But now, that narrative has collapsed… and those so-called cultural titans are nothing more than useful idiots—propped up by powerful industry players who used them to sell a lie. And as the illusion crumbles, celebrities like Taylor Swift are left standing in the wreckage, not as icons, but as an example of what happens when you trade authenticity for applause and sell your soul for “rewards.”
