As we inch closer to January 20th, Trump’s nominees are back in the spotlight, and as you can imagine, things are heating up. One of the biggest, most dramatic nominations is for Secretary of Defense. President Trump picked an anti-establishment, battle-hardened vet who’s more than qualified for the job—which, of course, means the warmongering uniparty lost their minds and came after him like a pack of mouth-frothing wolves.

Pete Hegseth didn’t just get some criticism here and there; he got the “Kavanaugh Special.” The left dragged him through every pile of mud they could find, pulling out their favorite weapon: the good ol’ “wrap-up smear.”

And let’s not forget—the left didn’t even try to hide their game plan. Nancy Pelosi laid it all out on video, plain as day:

A lot of so-called “experts” claimed Pete Hegseth’s nomination was dead on arrival. They said there was no way he’d make it through the process. But now, as January 20th inches closer, things are taking a wild and dramatic U-turn.

The buzz on the street is that Hegseth already has the votes he needs to sail through. If that’s true, it won’t be long before he’s behind that desk, ready to start making the military great again.

CBS News has also confirmed this story:

Senate Majority Leader John Thune has privately told President-elect Donald Trump that he believes Pete Hegseth will have the votes to be confirmed as Secretary of Defense, according to three sources.

When asked for comment, a spokesman for Thune would only tell CBS News, “Two things we don’t discuss publicly: Whip counts and private conversations with the president.”

The new Senate Majority Leader in an interview with “Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan” promised a fair process but expressed more caution.

“I think these are nominees who are new enough, they’ve been going around and conducting their meetings, which I think, frankly, have gone very well, but they still have to make their case in front of the committee. And, you know, we don’t know all the information about some of these nominees.”

Hegseth’s confirmation hearing is scheduled for Jan. 14, according to Senate Armed Services Chairman Roger Wicker.

And on top of all that, senators are starting to speak out, praising Pete and his impressive credentials.

Suddenly, he’s back in the game with a new momentum. The next 48 hours will be critical, but for now, Pete is changing the narrative—and the uniparty knows it, so Lord only knows what they’ll throw at him next.

Pete’s nomination is shaping up to be yet another example of the regime-run media losing its bite. There was a time when they could make or break someone, and their “wrap-up smear” was pure gold. But those days are fading fast.
