It looks like Joni Ernst is busy digging her own political grave. Her behind-the-scenes war against Pete Hegseth has sparked a firestorm from MAGA, who were fed up with the RINO senator from Iowa long before she started attacking Trump’s nominees.

Many are shocked at Joni’s idiotic decision to go after Hegseth, and to nobody’s surprise, it’s backfiring spectacularly.

Let’s not forget—this is the same woman who eagerly pushed through Biden’s national security pick, the warmongering, midwit disaster, Lloyd Austin. You know, the guy who didn’t even bother to inform the White House that he was battling cancer and missing work during critical national security moments.

Her pushback against a patriotic, highly qualified, anti-war vet like Pete Hegseth, while giving a thumbs-up to a DEI disaster like Austin, is beyond infuriating.

Revolver:

Does Joni Ernst realize she’s destroying her political career as we speak? If not, we’re here to help her see the writing on the wall. At the moment, Ernst is the “Bud Light” of politicians—by turning her back on the very base that put her in office, going against Trump’s nominees, and cozying up to the establishment, she’s alienating the voters who probably paid for that facelift and supported her rise to power.

Just like Bud Light’s marketing disaster, Joni’s decision to toss her base in the garbage is a surefire way to tank her political brand. And once that trust is gone, and you lose MAGA, it’s almost impossible to win them back.

Joni’s fall from grace started almost as soon as she arrived in Washington.

Joni Ernst, the senator from Iowa, arrived in the swamp looking like a homespun midwestern grandmother, and in no time flat, she transformed herself into a DC diva.

It seems Joni Ernst has undergone quite the wild transformation. A facelift here, some freshly highlighted hair there, and a clothes upgrade that took her from “bumpkin” to polished in no time flat. Also, according to court documents, Ernst’s ex-husband, Gail, alleges that Joni had an affair with a soldier under her command—and then tried to cover it up.

According to official court documents, Joni Ernst isn’t exactly the picture of moral virtue. But that hasn’t stopped her from lapping up every baseless “anonymous rumor” tossed at Pete Hegseth. More on that later.

Now, there are rumblings in DC that Joni isn’t even the one making most of these bad decisions—it’s her chief of staff. And that’s even worse, if true. It would show just how weak of a leader Joni really is, letting her subordinates call the shots and run the show.

Sean Davis:

I’m beginning to hear serious rumblings that the big problem in Joni Ernst’s office is not Ernst, but her chief of staff Lisa Goeas.

A former lobbyist and non-Iowan, Goeas is apparently behind the bulk of Ernst’s string of terrible decisions of late, including the George Floyd nonsense, transgender military insanity, Lloyd Austin/Merrick Garland support, and the anti-Hegseth jihad that now has the potential to end Ernst’s political career in Iowa.

Goeas, who is married to pollster Ed Goeas, was recently celebrated as a major Washington “power player” by Politico and was photographed at Mar-a-Lago living it up with Trump and Elon Musk before deciding to go to war against Pete Hegseth, Trump’s nominee to run the Pentagon.

Many close to President Trump are deeply suspicious that Ernst can be trusted on initiatives like DOGE give Ernst’s and Goeas’s behind-the-scenes efforts to knife Hegseth.

Sadly, a lot of folks who rode Trump’s coattails have turned on him. Ron DeSantis was a big fan of Joni and defended her while slamming President Trump during his ill-fated run for the White House.

Ron DeSantis:

Chuck Grassley and Joni Ernst were winning elections in Iowa long before Donald Trump came on the scene and gave the GOP a culture of losing. Trump’s disrespect for Iowa conservatives, including Governor Reynolds, is ridiculous.

Leaders don’t make it about themselves but about the larger mission.

As president, I will focus on delivering results, not personal vendettas.

Things are looking bleak for Joni. Her political situation just went from bad to worse, thanks to a string of unearthed videos—including one where she defends Liz Cheney’s bitter attacks on President Trump. No wonder MAGA is done with her.

Honestly, is there anything worse than cozying up to the toxic train wreck that is Liz Cheney? In the political world, it’s the kiss of death—just ask Kamala Harris. And now, Joni Ernst is finding that out the hard way.

When Liz Cheney first launched her bitter attacks against President Trump, guess who ran to The View (of all places) to defend her?

Yep, good ol’ Joni…

But wait, there’s more. Back in 2023, Joni Ernst went on Fox News and hinted that it was time to “move on” from President Trump.

Clearly, her political instincts are as bad as her judgment. She’s proven she can’t be trusted to make good decisions—and MAGA isn’t going to forget it.

After all these examples of Joni’s terrible decisions, it shouldn’t shock anyone to learn she’s also a feminist who thinks sending women overseas to die in endless foreign wars is a great idea, and she also supports trans in the military. Nothing like turning our US armed forces into a petri dish for the LGBTQ agenda, right, Joni?

As if things weren’t bad enough (they are), Joni Ernst has found a new low in her crusade to sabotage Pete Hegseth. She’s now flipping the script, using the latest #MeToo smear against Pete to make it all about herself. Joni is suddenly claiming she was a victim of sexual assault—as if that somehow gives her a special power to personally take down Trump’s National Security nominee, like it’s her “duty” or something.

Politico:

Ernst spoke during a panel at the annual Reagan National Defense Forum at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, citing her advocacy on the Senate Armed Services Committee for survivors of military sexual trauma — and, frankly, her personal experience. Ernst, a retired Iowa National Guard lieutenant colonel, is the Senate’s first female combat veteran.

“I am a survivor of sexual assault so I have worked very heavily on sexual assault measures within the military, so I’d like to hear a little more about that, and I’d like to hear about the role of women in our great United States military,” Ernst said on stage.

Ernst said she wanted Hegseth to have a fair and thorough vetting process with a public hearing, calling that “incredibly important.”

“I am excited to sit down with him again, but there will be a very thorough vetting before he moves forward. So [I] look forward to seeing him in front of the committee as well — and I know that he’ll be there and have to answer some very tough questions.”

Wait, so, Joni is “excited” to sit down with a so-called “rapist?”

This is just another political hit job, no different from the ridiculous “Hitler” nonsense thrown at President Trump. These people know the accusations are bogus—they just love slinging mud and hoping it sticks.

And again, let’s not forget, this is the same woman who eagerly voted “yes” on Lloyd Austin but is treating Pete Hegseth like he’s some kind of radical nut. That tells you everything you need to know about Joni Ernst. If you didn’t know she was a so-called “Republican,” you’d swear she was just another regime lackey.

This is exactly why Joni Ernst needs to go in the next Iowa primary, no matter how she votes on Hegseth’s confirmation.
