Let’s be honest: nobody ever accused the US government of being a well-oiled, efficient machine. In fact, governments worldwide—especially ours—are known for being bloated, convoluted, and chaotic messes. That’s why America is drowning in debt, flailing around like a bizarre mix of an MTV “Sweet 16” spoiled brat and a hapless third-world nation, barely hanging on.

Thankfully, President Trump has tapped Elon Musk to tackle this mess head-on. Well, enter the Department of Government Efficiency—or “DOGE,” as it’s cleverly known for short.

And let’s just say, Elon isn’t treating this like a casual side gig. He’s already started peeling back the layers of utter dysfunction, and even his initial findings are downright jaw-dropping. After what he’s found, it makes you wonder how this country has managed to hobble along for so long without completely falling apart.

From what we know, the US debt is spiraling out of control, fueled by reckless spending, endless foreign wars, and a laundry list of wasteful boondoggles.

This outrageous number is likely higher by now. We’re being driven deeper into debt for a war that is none of our business in a country that is one of the most corrupt on the planet and a financial playground for shifty politicians and shady business.

Is it any wonder we’re in this mess? The list of bumbling buffoons in our government is endless, and their incompetence barely scratches the surface of just how inept our broken system truly is.

And we can’t forget to mention one of the regime’s biggest disasters, Janet Yellen, who has played a significant role in the financial downfall of America. But hey, she’s sorry, so it’s all good.

At this point, it’s so bad that a staggering 25% of every single dollar the government collects will be swallowed up just to cover the ballooning interest on our national debt.

Think about that—25 percent. It’s mind-blowing, in the worst way ever.

Take a good look at how the US national debt has exploded. It’s a disaster we’re all paying for.

But here’s the truly terrifying part: we probably don’t even know the full extent of the damage or how deep in debt we really are. Why is that? Well, that’s where Elon Musk comes in with his discovery. Turns out, the federal government’s computers and software are so outdated and useless that these so-called “officials” of ours can’t even track where the money they collect from hard-working Americans actually goes.

And if they’re clueless about that, just imagine what else they don’t know, right?

Elon took to X, where he revealed what he uncovered.

Elon Musk:

The Federal government computers & software are in such bad shape that they often cannot verify that payments are not fraud, waste or abuse!

That’s why the government can’t pass basic audits. They often LITERALLY don’t know where your tax dollars went. It’s insane.

My preferred title in the new administration is Volunteer IT Consultant. Need to fix the IT infrastructure in order to make government work. This is a grind & hardly glorious, but we can’t make government efficient & fix the deficit if the computers don’t work.

Americans see this relentless, mind-boggling inefficiency and can’t help but wonder: Is it intentional? How can so many so-called “experts” and “leaders” be this insanely clueless? Sure, it’s an easy conclusion to draw—and maybe there’s some truth to it. But Elon Musk believes most of this dysfunction is just the natural byproduct of a bloated bureaucracy where nobody’s accountable for anything. Ever.

Ironically, if this mess were intentional, fixing it might actually be simpler. Instead, it’s a tangled web of incompetence that will be incredibly tough to unravel. But if there’s one thing we know about Elon, it’s that he doesn’t quit. This is a man planning to send humans to Mars—so if anyone can clean up this bureaucratic disaster, it’s him.

Let’s hope he succeeds. America’s future depends on it.
