The Biden-Harris regime’s full spectrum assault on the American economy is as multifaceted as it is relentless. There is, of course, the crippling inflation, the boundless corruption, the botched and ill-advised Covid stimulus (with scams coming to light even now), and of course the wide-open borders, just to name a few Biden-era travesties. Often lost in this bountiful conversation of the Biden-Harris economic calamity is the assault against the great American auto industry, oil and gas, and American energy generally.
Perhaps no single policy better represents the corruption and incompetence of the Biden-Harris energy policy than the industry’s insistence on so-called electric vehicle mandates. As though American auto companies weren’t suffering enough under Biden-Harris policies, the EV mandates impose unreasonable restrictions on American auto companies that in effect force these companies to produce electric vehicles for which there is little consumer demand. The average EV is over $15,000 more expensive than its gas counterpart and almost 50% more expensive to repair. Another issue is that the nation lacks the infrastructure to support the demands of the EV mandate—indeed, even the regime press has had to acknowledge the astonishing fact that Biden-Harris managed to produce only 7 EV charging stations with over 7 billion dollars and two years to spend it. Imagine ravaging the taxpayer with inflation, forcing the taxpayer to purchase electric vehicles he doesn’t want, taking over 7 billion dollars of taxpayer money, and not even building the appropriate infrastructure needed to sustain the electric vehicles the taxpayer doesn’t want in the first place. That’s the Biden-Harris economy in a nutshell.
While the EV mandates have wreaked havoc on the economy generally, much of the pain is of course concentrated in the American auto industry and in states like Michigan, where this auto industry has historically thrived. Ford’s decision to pause production of its F-150 lightning pickup is only one of many examples of American auto companies struggling to meet the burden of Biden-Harris EV mandates.
Trump, a successful businessman and a man of common sense, has always been vehemently opposed to these mandates.
It is a testament to how devastating EV mandates are that even after electric vehicle king Elon Musk stepped fully into the arena to support Trump, Trump has not at all let up on his opposition to the EV mandates. Still more remarkable is the fact that Elon Musk himself came out against the mandates. As it turns out, when you’re a brilliant businessman like Musk who actually produces products consumers want, you don’t need the government stepping in and tipping the scales on your behalf.
A surprising number of people think that Tesla survives on subsidies. That is true of our competitors, but not of Tesla.

As if EV mandates aren’t bad enough, at present China controls approximately 90 percent of the EV supply chain. EV mandates don’t just punish the American automaker and consumer; they amount effectively to a subsidy for China—in other words, the perfect Democrat policy.
Driving Force Action, a PAC that seeks to unite car enthusiasts against EV mandates, has called out Kamala Harris for accepting a $50,000 donation from Stella Ke Li, the Chinese native CEO of the American branch of BYD, a CCP-linked Chinese electric vehicle company.
In a scathing letter to the Harris campaign, Driving Force spells out the serious concerns with BYD:
BYD has been described as a company that benefits from substantial support from the Chinese government through direct subsidies and military-civil fusion initiatives. As detailed in various reports, BYD collaborates with military affiliates on significant projects, including data aggregation from vehicles and technology sharing with state-owned enterprises.
The letter continues:
While you have recently spoken in support of American manufacturing and expressed concern about China’s dominance in the electric vehicle market, accepting contributions from BYD appears inconsistent with these statements.
Kamala’s inconsistency is indeed striking. In 2019, she co-sponsored the Zero-Emission Vehicles Act of 2019, which would have established “a schedule for increasing the percentage of zero-emission vehicles a vehicle manufacturer delivers for sale”—in other words, banning all internal combustion engines.
She now denies she supports this plan, and the mainstream media covers for her—even “fact-checking” Trump for correctly noting her record after it was clear that voters in Michigan were catching on to Kamala’s betrayal. Kamala taking money from the China-backed EV mafia just adds insult to the injury. Accordingly, the folks at Driving Force Action have demanded that she return the money and publicly dissociate from BYD if indeed Kamala Harris is serious about supporting the American car industry, which she now, at the very last minute, desperately and disingenuously claims.
Driving Force Action PAC has ads in Michigan and other Rust Belt states, such as Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Ohio, stating “Chinese money has no money in American politics. Tell Kamala Harris to return the Chinese cash; put America first.”
The anti-EV campaign seems to be working, especially in the election critical state of Michigan. As even Politico notes: “Republicans are on the attack over electric vehicles, and Democrats are having a hard time finding their footing.”
The Trump campaign is releasing similar ads, throwing the New York Times into an absolute fit, saying, “Kamala Harris supports EV mandates, killing Michigan jobs. She wants to end all gas-powered cars. Crazy but true. Harris’s push requiring electric only is failing big, and Michigan autoworkers are paying the price. Massive layoffs have already started. She could tank Michigan’s whole economy.”
The mainstream media response to the effectiveness of these pro-auto and anti-EV mandate ads says everything you need to know. One of the hallmark features of Trump’s ground-breaking candidacy in 2016 was his love for the men and women who built the backbone of America, and the auto industry was always considered critical to any genuine American revival. Hopefully the voters of Michigan, the rustbelt, and America generally send a clear message that the American taxpayer is tired of getting fleeced, and the American autoworkers are ready to reclaim the great destiny that Biden-Kamala have attempted to rob for the sake of useless regulation that does nothing positive for our environment.
Let the engines of America roar once again come January.
