Things are heating up in DC as President Trump builds his America First cabinet, making it crystal clear that nobody—and we mean nobody—will stand in his way. This time around, things are different. Trump isn’t just a leader; he’s arguably the most powerful politician in the world, with the full backing of the American people behind him.

He’s coming in with a historic mandate, and he’s not afraid to use it. The Deep State and establishment elites better take note—this is a Trump they’ve never faced before.

Our own Darren Beattie joined Steve on War Room to talk about the Gaetz appointment, and during the discussion, we learned that President Trump played his ace against Thune—the new Senate Majority Leader, elected in a shady “secret” vote that MAGA didn’t approve of.

But Trump isn’t letting that stop him. He made it clear to Thune that if Matt Gaetz isn’t confirmed, he’ll use the Federal Vacancies Reform Act to appoint him anyway.

Lacking confidence in some of his Senate-confirmed Cabinet secretaries, Trump attempted to exploit the Federal Vacancies Reform Act by installing acting departmental secretaries with questionable legal authority. Another option he considered in April 2020 was to unilaterally adjourn the Congress in order to make recess authority appointments to various vacant positions. That power can only be exercised if the two houses cannot agree on a mutual adjournment date. However, at the time Trump floated his idea for a unilateral adjournment, the House and Senate had already adopted a firm adjournment date of Jan. 3, 2021, thus thwarting the president’s legal authority.

Nevertheless, the power of recess appointments clearly appealed to him. Last Sunday Trump posted on Truth Social, “Any Republican Senator seeking the coveted LEADERSHIP position in the United States Senate must agree to Recess Appointments…without which we will not be able to get people confirmed in a timely manner.”

In the weeks to come, the attacks and innuendos against Gaetz will become even worse. We must always remember the fact that none of the objections to Gaetz are about his qualifications or his conduct—instead, all of them are about the agenda Matt Gaetz will pursue as Attorney General. And that agenda is sure to be sweeping and magnificent, because Gaetz understands the cancers poisoning America like few others do.

President Trump is “all in” on ensuring Gaetz’ confirmation. This is critical not only for the reasons described above, but for the fact that the appointment of Matt Gaetz as Attorney General sets the narrative that Trump absolutely means business.

Here is what a MAGA agenda for American justice looks like. This isn’t a wishlist; it’s a real agenda that can easily be achieved if we join President Trump’s efforts to confirm Matt Gaetz by any means necessary.

Make the First Amendment First Again

During the first Trump term, the Department of Justice created a “Religious Liberty Task Force” to roll back various Obama-era attacks on the freedom of religious expression in America. Obviously, Covid-era attacks on free worship show that the cause remains as worthy as ever, but the Gaetz DOJ can create a new, equally important battle group: a Free Speech Task Force.

This task force should be given a mission and the power to coordinate anti-censorship efforts all across the federal government. Many have speculated that the second Trump Administration could release “Twitter Files” equivalents for many federal departments and maybe even force the release of internal documents at other tech giants besides Twitter. This First Amendment Task Force would be the ones who make sure this happens. Scour the entire executive branch to find those who conspired against Americans’ free speech rights and send them packing. If warranted, send them to jail for conspiracy against rights.

Swamp’s Worst Nightmare: How AG Matt Gaetz Can Make the DOJ Great Again
