Gordon Sondland, one of the witnesses who testified against President Donald Trump during the Ukraine impeachment saga, has just made a major political U-turn.
Sondland has now declared that he is supporting Trumpโs presidential campaign in 2024.
Trumpโs former ambassador to the European Union shared his stunning endorsement with MSNBC.
The surprise revelation left liberal anchor Ari Melber visibly agitated.
Democrats insist that the January 6, 2021, protest was a threat to democracy that disqualifies Trump from ever holding public office again.
But Sondland, who previously condemned Trump over Jan. 6, said he sees much bigger threats after four years of President Joe Biden and VP Kamala Harris.
โIโve now lived four years under the Biden-Harris policies and I have to say that those policies are not only becoming an existential threat to our countryโs way of life but to our allies as well,โ Sondland said.
Melber started to loudly interrupt, shouting:
โIโm going to let you finish, but this is so striking.
โYou said it was a โno for meโ after that, after Jan. 6.
โAnd here we are right now, and youโre saying itโs a yes for you?โ
โIt is a yes, for me,โ Sondland confirmed.
โIt is an absolute yes for me.
โThat is how badly the Biden-Harris team have prosecuted their job.โ
Not letting the issue go, Melber continued to bring up Sondlandโs past comments on Jan. 6.
Melber suggested that Sondland was arguing that Jan. 6 was an โattack on democracyโ that is โbigger than any policy.โ
But Sondland explained that Harris and Biden have lost him on both the policy front and the โdemocracyโ issue.
He noted that Democratsโ desired electoral โreformsโ could result in โmassive voting irregularities.โ
โI am seeing so many attacks on democracy that eclipse Jan. 6th,โ Sondland said.
It isnโt news that the media are obsessed with Jan. 6.
Outside of glossy cable news studios, however, most Americans are worried about crime, the border, and the cost of living.
Sondland, a hotel magnate, emphasized that โpolicy matters,โ noting Democrats have โdecimatedโ his city of Portland, Oregon, and โthey donโt want to fix it.โ
โBusinesses are suffering,โ he said.
โMy own business is suffering solely for political reasons, and itโs all fixable and they donโt want to fix it.โ

How will talking heads like Ari Melber react if Trump wins the election?
Will they call that an attack on democracy too?
Sondland wonโt be invited back to MSNBC again either way.
