Fraternity men at Ole Miss captured the nation’s attention after they counter-protested against campus leftists demonstrating for Palestine on campus. Hundreds of Greek Life members waved American flags, sang the National Anthem, and chanted “We Want Trump.” A number of them jeered at the protesters. When one large black woman from the Palestinian side started screaming and flicking off the frat boys, the crowd made whooping noises at her and called her “Lizzo.”

Interesting how everyone understood Lizzo to be an insult, eh?
Ole Miss bros chant “Lizzo” at large anti-Israel protestor.
It’s funny how everyone knows this is an insult, because Lizzo is a kind of affirmative action celebrity. If they chanted “Rhianna” at a girl who resembled her it wouldn’t make sense as an insult. pic.twitter.com/pYOPofnkj3

Some commentators hoped for frat boy saviors… Eh…
Commie losers at Ole Miss University are being DROWNED OUT by students belting out the national anthem.
I never expected the frat bros to be the ones to save us 🔥🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/UF2x82D86t

Pro-frat boy sentiment ran high.
Ok, I'm sold. Sending my kids to Ole Miss University if they want a college degree.

Journalists were outraged by this display. They singled out one member of Phi Delta Theta, whom they alleged made monkey noises at the woman. It appears he was just whooping along with the exuberant crowd, but that’s considered an unforgivable act of racism.
Now that member is facing 15 minutes of hate from the media. A school investigation has been launched against the student, and his fraternity has expelled him. This move appears to be orchestrated by the national Phi Delta Theta organization, led by David Almacy. The organization condemned Staples as a racist and said his actions are “antithetical to the values of Phi Delta Theta.”

The craven move illustrates the split between fraternities’ national leadership and their local chapters. Nationals want fraternities to be more “diverse” and accommodating to the liberal values on campus. Local chapters, especially at SEC schools, want to defy that. They don’t want to live under the tyranny of political correctness. They want to have a good time around men and women who share their conservative values and norms. That’s why young people flock to Greek life in the first place. Amidst a sea of leftism, fraternities stand out as the one area where kids will proudly chant for Trump.
David Almacy has very different values. Despite working in Republican politics all his life, Almacy loves Biden, hates Trump, supports Black Lives Matter, and backs efforts to erase American heritage. He represents everything wrong with the “cuckservative” national leadership of Greek organizations.
Here’s what Almacy had to say recently about MTG:
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is wearing a red MAGA hat on the floor of the US House of Representatives for the State of the Union. What a lack of decorum. Completely inappropriate. #SOTU pic.twitter.com/7CZ92pInVB

Here’s what he had to say about the desecration of American history:
Glad to see this. The Confederacy’s attempt to literally break up our nation was defeated by the Union. Many regard them traitors. The soldier’s back was turned against the North. May it be preserved in a museum for historical reference. Doesn’t belong in the heart of our city! https://t.co/rOzovW5u0Y

Here are his recent thoughts on Trump 2024.
This rambling speech is a yet another unpleasant reminder as to why Trump lost. Not to mention his attempt to overthrow the government, disenfranchise voters with the “Big Lie” about the election, and incitement of a violent insurrection at the Capitol. #unfit #TrumpAnnouncement

Bill Kristol may have ghostwritten this one:
The Republican Party was initially formed with abolitionist roots to end slavery, promote equality & create opportunity for all Americans. Who among current @GOP leaders will stand up, speak out & fight for those ideals today?
— David Almacy (@almacy) May 30, 2020
Here he is cheering on Biden 2020:
Excellent piece by @RepValDemings, former Orlando Police Chief. This is what leadership looks like. She would be a formidable #VP pick for @JoeBiden. https://t.co/fYblrinRVF @val_demings

Almacy, who worked in the neocon administration of George W. Bush, helps run a pro-Biden Super PAC. The PAC, called 43 Alumni for America, is composed of anti-Trump Bush alumni. According to its website, the organization was created in the wake of the Black Lives Matter riots in the 2020 Summer of Love.
In July 2020, another task stood before us. This one asked many of us to set aside partisanship in service, once again, to a country we love.
Having witnessed far too many days filled with chaos emanating from the highest levels of government, we knew it was time to take a stand.
Former colleagues and friends from both sides of the aisle joined together and began to put our experience to work. As our former boss said, “Leadership to me means duty, honor, country.”
Bound by our shared work experience and a belief in a brighter tomorrow, we endorsed Joe Biden for President and Kamala Harris for Vice President to restore leadership, honor, integrity and empathy to the White House.
Almacy said in a 2020 interview that his disgust over Trump’s attempts to contain the BLM rioters, whom he called “peaceful protesters,” inspired him to work for Biden’s election.
It’s no surprise an organization run by Almacy would rush to expel someone loosely accused of racism. His values aren’t those of the young members shouting, “WE WANT TRUMP.” He wants to replace the multicultural vision of the Democratic Party instead.
Almacy is not alone. Nationals have long tried to make their local chapters more PC. Kappa Alpha Order, a fraternity that prides itself on its southern character and claims Robert E. Lee as its spiritual founder, has sought to distance itself from its roots. It eliminated its trademark Old South Balls against the wishes of local chapters and demanded members stop brandishing Confederate symbols. Several fraternities now celebrate Pride Month. The North American Interfraternity Conference embraces DEI. Phi Delta Theta itself celebrates Pride Month and incorporates DEI into its institutional framework.
This is not what conservative kids sign up for. They didn’t join a fraternity to have the same woke nonsense championed by university apparatchiks imposed on them. They want a space away from all that.
Local chapters will need work to resist the woke agenda thrust upon them by the likes of David Almacy. That’s the only way to ensure conservative spaces remain on campus. If Greek life falls, all of campus life will be one giant DEI department.
