The murder of NYC Officer Jonathan Diller has struck a chord with everyone. Here was a young dad and husband, bravely facing the tough streets of a city that lately seems to throw more shade at its cops than backing them up, while letting the bad guys take center stage. It’s like New York City has done a full 360 back to the rough and tumble ’80s when the crooks had the upper hand until Mayor Giuliani came along and got things back on track. Today’s officials are doing the opposite. They’re handing the keys of the city over to the thugs, and the police have had it.

Officer Diller, a good family man, was savagely murdered by career criminals—a couple of animals with zero regard for life.

ABC 7 NY:

The first of two suspects has been charged and held without bail in the killing of NYPD Officer Jonathan Diller during a traffic stop in Queens.

Diller, 31, who lived in Massapequa Park with his wife Stephanie and nearly 1-year-old son, joined the NYPD in February 2021.

Both suspects arrested in his murder have lengthy criminal records.

Lindy Jones, 41, was driving the vehicle at the time of the deadly shooting and Guy Rivera, 34, is the suspected gunman who pulled the trigger, police say.

This should have been a routine traffic stop, but unfortunately for Officer Diller, the two thugs in the car had rap sheets a mile long. The ABC 7 NY piece goes on:

Police said Wednesday that the gun used by Rivera was found to have jammed after it fired the single shot that killed Officer Diller.

Investigators now believe the suspects were casing a T-Mobile store on Mott Avenue on Monday evening when Diller and another officer asked the suspects to move their illegally parked car from a bus stop.

Officials say they refused to roll down their windows. Diller ordered the passenger, Rivera, to show his hands. But instead, Rivera allegedly pulled the trigger of a gun and shot Diller below his vest.

Officials say Diller’s partner then fired at Rivera, striking him in the back. Rivera remains hospitalized at Jamaica Hospital on Wednesday, where he is being treated for the gunshot wound to the back.

Records show Rivera has been arrested by the NYPD 21 times — nine of them felonies. He was released from prison in September 2021 after serving nearly five years for criminal sale of a controlled substance. He previously spent three years in state prison for a 2011 assault and was released in October 2014.

Jones has 14 prior arrests. He was arrested for second-degree criminal possession of a weapon for having a loaded firearm in Far Rockaway on April 17, 2023. He was out on $75,000 bail. He previously served 10 years in prison on 2003 attempted murder and robbery charges and was released in November 2013.

President Trump, like many Americans, was deeply moved by this all-too-familiar story of “career thugs” roaming free and posing a serious threat to public safety. The tragic slaying of Officer Diller resonated with him so profoundly that he made it a point to attend the funeral.

The warm embrace President Trump received there was so heartfelt it left many attendees in awe, highlighting a moment of unity and respect in the midst of grief. Hearing how Officer Diller’s family and friends received President Trump is heartwarming and remarkable. They greeted President Trump with a rousing ovation, applauding and expressing their deep appreciation for his kindness and compassion. This memorable moment provided great comfort to the family, and for those who were present, it’s an experience they’ll always cherish. Ultimately, the family’s comfort is what truly counts, and this gesture certainly delivered.

President Trump shared these photos on his Truth Social, with a beautiful message to the family.

There’s this amazing photo as well:

The contrast between President Trump and Biden is strikingly and sadly clear. While President Trump attended the funeral of a fallen officer, offering solace to the grieving family, Biden was hobnobbing with two political bums, Obama and Clinton, schmoozing with their super-wealthy, out-of-touch friends for campaign funds.  Disgusting.

The real shameful kicker is that Biden and his elite pals were just minutes away from the funeral home.

The takeaway from this horrific story is crystal clear: the bad guys are in charge, and we’re in dire need of a leader who not only sees this problem but is also ready and able to tackle it head-on. In addition, this situation has further revealed that President Trump truly is a man of the people, in stark contrast to Biden, who is a man of opportunity. This distinction speaks volumes about their priorities and approaches to leadership.

Vote wisely.
