During an airstrike in southern Lebanon on Monday, a top Hezbollah leader was killed, according to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). A film of the strike indicates a vehicle driving through the Majadel village while an IDF aircraft honed in on it.

Hezbollah boss Hassan Hussein Salami was expected to be in the car. You can see a bomb dropping on the car in the video, causing a fireball and crashing into a building nearby. Cars next to Salami's managed to dodge the explosion.

Salami was with Hezbollah's Nasser squad and had been commanding various attacks against Israel along the north border, including launching anti-tank missiles, said the IDF on Monday.

While Hezbollah did not identify Salami as a commander, they did acknowledge his death on Monday.

Following an attack in Bekaa Valley by Israeli warplanes, which claimed the lives of two members of a terror group on Monday, a Hezbollah politician, Hassan Fadlallah declared: "Its aggression on Baalbek or any other areas will not remain without response."

Following this statement, Hezbollah fired 60 Katyusha rockets at Israel's army headquarters in Golan Heights. No injuries were reported in the Hezbollah attack on Golan Heights.

Later, the IDF announced they sent more missiles to Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon, including the site from which the barrage of rockets was launched, according to the Times of Israel.

The village of Kawkaba, where Hezbollah launched about 60 rockets at the Golan, was hit by a fighter jet. The IDF also reported that an Israeli tank shelled a building used by Hezbollah in Kafr Kila earlier in the day.

On Monday, Hezbollah shot down an Israeli Air Force drone over the Nabatieh area in southern Lebanon using a surface-to-air missile. The IAF typically uses these drones for surveillance and attacks. In response to this incident, the IDF said it targeted Hezbollah's air defense unit near Baalbek.

The Israeli Air Force also targeted the downed aircraft in the Nabatieh area, according to The Times of Israel. This is done to prevent sensitive technology from falling into enemy hands. Hezbollah politician Hassan Fadlallah stated that Israel had expanded its strikes to include Baalbek and other areas as a way to "compensate" for the loss of its drone.

He warned in a televised speech at the funeral of a recently killed Hezbollah fighter that "Its aggression on Baalbek or any other areas will not remain without response."

The conflict between Israel and Hezbollah intensifies as the ongoing Israel-Hamas war continues. The Israeli Defense Forces have stated it will "continue operating to defend the State of Israel from the threat of Hezbollah terrorist organization, including in aerial operations above Lebanese territory."

In nearly five months of daily conflicts between the Lebanese militant group and Israeli forces, around 200 Hezbollah fighters and 35 civilians in Lebanon have lost their lives.

Israel has issued a warning that it will no longer tolerate Hezbollah's presence along the Lebanon border, where they could potentially carry out an attack similar to the massacre committed by Hamas on October 7.

If international diplomacy fails to move Hezbollah away from the border, Israel has stated that it will be forced to launch an offensive.
