There was an awkward moment on MSNBC recently—and no, it wasn’t Rachel Maddow rehashing the Russia hoax. This time, the spotlight was on a reporter named Alicia Mendez. If her last name rings a bell, that’s because she’s the daughter of slimeball Senator Bob Mendez, who’s had his fair share of controversies. You might be wondering, “Another Democrat in the media?” Well, hold that thought; we’ll get to that later. But here’s where it gets bizarre: Alicia was guest hosting a show when breaking news about her father hit the airwaves. Absolutely beautiful how karma makes her plays, right?

The New York Post:

MSNBC anchor Alicia Menendez found herself in an awkward position on Tuesday — breaking the news of her embattled father’s latest legal troubles.

Indicted US Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) was hit with fresh allegations that a wealthy businessman pal showered the lawmaker with fancy gifts — including Formula One race tickets and a Patek Philippe watch — in exchange for an investment deal with a Qatari real estate firm.

Alicia Menendez was filling in for Nicolle Wallace as host of “Deadline: White House” when the Department of Justice slapped the senator with the superseding indictment.

“We have to take a quick break,” the senator’s daughter said with about five minutes left in her two-hour guest stint. “And we’ll be back with some breaking news right after this.”

After the commercials ended, Menendez was no longer on camera and MSNBC host Ari Melber greeted viewers with the latest allegations against the senator.

Alicia has made it clear she won’t report on her father. And honestly, that’s probably for the best. After all, she could end up as a witness or even be implicated as a conspirator in his trial.

But this does beg the question about the Dems and media love affair. At this point, our media might as well be a SuperPAC for the Democrat Party. It’s becoming more and more obvious with hires who often have deep political connections to the Democrats. And they expect us to buy their “bipartisan” act? It’s insulting. Take the former White House Communications Director for Obama—he’s now hosting ABC’s “This Week.” That’s a prime slot on a major political Sunday show. But it’s more than just a job switch. It’s indicative of an incestuous relationship between the media and left-wing politics that’s corrupted journalism beyond repair.

Clairon Ledger:

During the Obama Administration, many members of the media floated in and out of the administration and in and out of leftwing blogs and think tanks. They are still around with many of them serving as reporters and their leftwing friends as active members of the Democrats’ “resistance.” They trade information and shape each other’s worldviews and I am not convinced the heads of media outlets are doing enough to push their reporters to separate their worldview from the facts at hand. As a result, we are not getting the whole truth, but a narrative within which facts are shaped to advance the narrative.

There is a pretty substantial symbiotic relationship between the political left in Washington and the media. While a few people went from the media to the Bush Administration, it was never like it was with Obama.

Jay Carney went from Time to the White House press secretary’s office. Shailagh Murray went from the Washington Post to the Veep’s office while married to Neil King at the Wall Street Journal. Neil King has left the Wall Street Journal to work for Fusion GPS. Linda Douglass went from ABC News to the White House and then the Atlantic. Jill Zuckman went from the Chicago Tribune to the Obama Administration’s Transportation Department. Douglas Frantz went from the Washington Post to the State Department and Stephen Barr went from the Post to the Labor Department.

Remember the days when you’d watch the news and wouldn’t have a clue about the reporter’s politics? That’s how it should be. But, unfortunately, we’ve shifted from investigative reporting to outright pontificating. It’s a downhill slide, and it’s only getting worse. At this rate, the US propaganda media will soon rival North Korea’s state-run setup.
