Hilary Chimes in … Spielberg’s Daughter Calls Sexism [Updated]

January 24, 2024 Jordan Ruimy

Greta Gerwig was snubbed in the directing category. Margot Robbie was snubbed in the Lead Actress category. We get it. It’s a travesty stemming from a male-dominated Academy that needs to get with the program.

The backlash has been fierce and furious. Even Hilary Clinton decided to chime in this morning with a nauseating tweet signaling support for fellow female warriors Gerwig and Robbie:

“Greta & Margot, while it can sting to win the box office, but not take home the gold, your millions of fans love you. You’re both so much more than Kenough. #HilaryBarbie”

Shoot me now.

It gets worse. Steven Spielberg’s daughter decided to take the fury up a notch by explicitly saying that the Gerwig snub had to do with her being female:

“Imagine being a female director and having the men on your team be nominated for an award but you … To my fellow directors who also feel a sense of rejection by Greta Gerwig’s Oscar snub, we can’t give up hope.”

Did she forget about America Ferrera’s surprising nomination which, for the record, was totally undeserved and will be looked back on as one of the more farcical acting nominations this century. How about, fellow female, Justine Triet’s well-deserved directing nod for “Anatomy of A Fall”?

When is this clown show going to end?
