Well, it seems a strong public backlash has once again thwarted a tyrannical move by the Biden regime. This time, the uproar successfully protected the statue of William Penn, a historically significant founding father of Pennsylvania, located in a park in Philadelphia.

The news of the planned removal sparked widespread anger. Many see the Democrat Party’s actions to be like a cultural purge, recklessly eradicating historical landmarks they find “inappropriate” by today’s standards. You know who else does this? ISIS terrorists. It’s reached a point now where you wonder if even the statue of David had been in the US, would liberals want to tear it down because he killed a “gentle giant”? It might sound crazy, but couldn’t you see it happening? This overzealous approach to historical statues is becoming increasingly absurd and dangerous.

And if you’re looking for someone to blame for this ghastly anti-American trend, you can point the finger at Nikki Haley. Her decision to remove the Confederate flag from above the South Carolina Capitol, caving to left-wing pressure, is what ignited this current wave of “historical reinterpretation.”

Here’s what Charlie Kirk had to say in a post on X when word first broke about the William Penn statue:

William Penn was one of the most morally upright men to ever live. He was a pacifist and was completely honorable in all his dealings with American Indians — he paid for all the land he settled on and honored all of his treaties. He supported freedom of religion, and despite having Pennsylvania as his personal property he gave it one of the most democratic governments in the world.

Despite that, the Biden Administration is pulling down a statue of Penn that stands on the site of his former home, in order to make the site more “welcoming” and “inclusive.”

It was never about what people in the past did. It’s about what they are: William Penn was a white, English-speaking settler who played a crucial role in building the America of today. The left’s ideology demands that all such people be blotted out.

However, the backtracking has begun in full force, according to Fox News:

The National Park Service has withdrawn plans to remove a statue of William Penn from a Philadelphia park commemorating his founding of Pennsylvania, situated at his former home.

The preliminary draft proposal for the “rehabilitation” of Welcome Park “was released prematurely and had not been subject to a complete internal agency review,” NPS announced Monday evening.

“No changes to the William Penn statue are planned,” a news release said. The park service never explained the reason for the impetus to remove the statue.

The plan, announced Friday, also involved expanding the telling of Philadelphia’s Native American history and fixing up the park. It faced a torrent of criticism, receiving more than 2,600 comments on a social media post calling for public comment to be submitted over a 2-week period on a dedicated website.

You really have to wonder why the Biden regime, in its desire to honor Native Americans, feels the need to erase and diminish white historical figures as part of that process. That’s the real issue. History should be left intact; we should be building around it, not tearing it down and acting as if it never existed.

The backlash on X was likely the catalyst because it reflects Americans’ growing irritation over terrorist-like behavior.

This victory shows the strength of the anti-mob movement. Our aim isn’t destruction, like the Dens, but preservation—maintaining the history as it ought to be and making sure that it’s perceived through a lens that’s authentic and undistorted.
