The regime’s appointed special counsel has desperately dragged the Supreme Court of the United States into the sham indictment saga against President Trump. Let’s be clear: the Supreme Court should be ruling on this travesty of justice, but why is Jack Smith running to them so early? Well, there’s a very sneaky reason for that.

CNN:

Special counsel Jack Smith on Monday asked the Supreme Court to decide whether Donald Trump has any immunity from criminal prosecution for alleged crimes he committed while in office – the first time that the high court will weigh in on the historic prosecution of the former president.

The extraordinary request is an attempt by Smith to keep the election subversion trial – currently scheduled for early March – on track. Smith is asking the Supreme Court to take the rare step of skipping a federal appeals court and quickly decide a fundamental issue of the case against Trump.

The Supreme Court has already responded, granting Mr. Smith his request prematurely, instead of letting the process unfold naturally. This move hands Jack Smith a golden opportunity to clinch his cases before the 2024 election, creating the biggest “election interference” spectacle since COVID “mail-in ballots” and Hunter’s laptop.

Trending Politics:

In extraordinary time, the Supreme Court has agreed to take up special counsel Jack Smith’s motion to consider claims by former President Donald Trump that he is immune from prosecution relating to statements made in the run-up to the January 6th, 2021 riots at the Capitol.

The high court made its decision almost immediately, agreeing to review the case on Monday and shortly after Smith filed his motion. In his request, Smith asked the court to recognize the historic nature of the situation and offer its opinion before the case could wind its way through an appeals court, effectively delaying a decision by months.

“The United States recognizes that this is an extraordinary request,” the filing states. “This is an extraordinary case.”

In its response, the court requested a counter motion from President Trump’s attorneys by Wednesday, December 20th at 4 p.m.

Professor Turley highlights that Smith is essentially “leapfrogging” over the appellate courts to expedite this matter. It’s safe to say his motivations aren’t driven by a desire to assist President Trump. He’s trying to clear many hurdles at once, ensuring he gets his answers in time to stage his political spectacle before the 2024 election.

Here’s what Professor Turley said on X:

Special Counsel Jack Smith is now seeking to leapfrog the appellate court and ask for a ruling from the Supreme Court on Trump’s immunity claims. The only reason for this petition is to seek to guarantee a trial of Trump (and possible conviction) before the election…

…The matter is currently before the D.C. Circuit which is viewed as a favorable court for Smith. However, Smith is trying to avoid any delay in the March trial date, set to begin the day before Super Tuesday…

…The Supreme Court may not view a trial of Trump during the campaign to be as motivating or urgent as does Smith. This is a novel legal argument that the Court would ordinarily prefer to hear the views from the appellate judges.

Clearly, Turley wrote his post before the Supreme Court announced they’d hear arguments, and it appears he may have given them too much credit. Jack Smith’s urgency to get the case to the Supreme Court is driven by a desire to wrap up this trial before the upcoming election. His deviation from the standard appeals process also reveals his true intentions—this attack against President Trump is purely politics, and has nothing to do with justice. Jack is shamelessly laying bare his motives for all to see.
