Zelensky is in a pickle. It’s becoming more apparent, even to his supporters, that Ukraine is unlikely to win this conflict with Russia. In addition, not just Americans but many other nations funding Ukraine are growing weary of this costly and pointless “war.” Many in the US are questioning why there hasn’t been a push for peace talks. We just keep funneling them money, and nobody knows where it’s going. Additionally, the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine has diverted global attention, taking even more focus away from Zelensky.

And as if these challenges weren’t daunting enough for Zelensky, one of his former military officers, Oleksiy Arestovych, has made a striking revelation that only adds to Zelensky’s headache. Arestovych’s latest disclosure about the war and the real underlying reasons for Zelensky’s struggles has hit like a bombshell.

In short, the illegitimate elitist Zelensky has treated the average working person so poorly that they have no desire or incentive to fight for him or his cause.

A pro-Russian X account that goes by the name “GeromanAT” has the translation and the video:

Arestovich drops another napalm bomb… 🔥🔥🔥

“The Ukraine has nothing to offer the people of Donbass and Crimea except second-class status. The problem is that they have nothing to offer their own people except second-class status. Look at the curious situation that’s developed. It’s been going on for quite a while, but now we see it clearly. The poor have no real reason to fight because they’re fighting for the rich. The rich pay their bribes and the poor go and die in the trenches. For a system that for 32 years refused to recognize them as human, crushed them, mocked them, ran them over in their cars and never did jail time, raped them at police stations and never did time, robbed them, kept them hungry and poor…

– But Alexey, surely you’re describing Russia…

– No, it’s the Ukraine. It’s the Ukraine, Julia. It’s our mother, the Ukraine. You understand? So the rich have no incentive…

– But it’s a reflection of…

– The people with resources have no incentive to go to the front and invest in a future victory for the simple reason that the system is always milking them and the meter is always ticking in the most shameless way. They know full well that if the Ukraine is victorious or has any success on the front lines, the current system will paradoxically be preserved in the shape of the current government for even longer. You know what that means? It means that more annd more Ukrainians, paradoxically, have no interest in any Ukrainian victories on the battlefield. They’re just not interested, and they’re showing it by fleeing the country and fighting off the military recruiters every single day. If this goes on, after a while, when all the passive forms of self-defense run out and they start clamping down on people and dragging them out from under their beds, people are going to start shooting the recruiters…”

Well, there’s a stark reality emerging from this revelation: What’s in it for the common people? Why should they fight and defend these illegitimate neoliberal elites? The situation has shifted from being ‘their country’ to one controlled by corrupted elites, who often regard these lowly peasants with absolute disdain. Yet, when conflict arises, these same controlled elites expect the peasants to shed their blood willingly. Zelensky can deliver all the rousing speeches he wants and wave his flag all over the place, but fighting for the compromised elite’s cause is pointless for the average guy. There’s nothing in it for them, so it’s no surprise they’d rather sit back and watch it all burn. Who can blame them?
