For decades, toxic feminism has swept across the globe, shifting the societal balance in an alarming way. Women are increasingly shunning their God-given roles as nurturers and caregivers in favor of middle-management positions where they whip up spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations for their male bosses. This shift is laughingly called “progress.”
So, how is “progress” panning out? Certainly not well for the children, who are often left to be raised by minimum-wage disgruntled daycare workers. Meanwhile, marriages are on very shaky ground, with half of all unions ending in divorce. And to make matters even worse, now, a growing number of these “modern career women” are outright refusing to even consider family life. Instead of raising children, they’re raising dogs and cats—and the results are predictably unfulfilling.
But don’t take our word for it. Meet Keiko, a 30-year-old career woman in Tokyo who lives in a tiny, dreary apartment. She has no children, no husband, no boyfriend, and openly identifies as a self-proclaimed raging alcoholic. Keiko’s life revolves around work and beer.
On her days off, Keiko opts for solo vacations, trading her usual surroundings for a new locale where she can continue her heavy drinking.
Keiko lives pay-check-to-paycheck, spending the bulk of her salary on rent and booze.
It’s both intriguing and disheartening that the narrator almost celebrates Keiko’s solitary, wretched lifestyle. And the comments section is filled with people calling Keiko a “queen.” A queen of what, exactly — hops and barley? It raises the question: How low have societal standards fallen when such a grim existence is considered heroic? This is today’s “girl boss.”
Keiko could be enjoying a vacation with her husband and children, delighting in laughter and sightseeing. But instead, this “modern woman” finds herself alone and half-drunk on a boat ride she’ll likely forget by morning. You go, girl!

Keiko spends her birthday alone, devoid of a social life. She has no friends or family to celebrate her independence, just 60 cans of beer to keep her company.

Keiko has traded the possibility of a loving husband, children, and a stable home for a lifestyle centered around 30 beers and a hotdog.
The story of Keiko is a sad trend we see globally, including right here at home with childless “wine aunts” who clock in long work hours only to drown their evenings in boxed wine. These women, like Keiko, are often hailed as “independent career women” who’ve supposedly got it all. Yet the harsh reality is that they’re miserable because they bought into the lie that life is better spent creating graphs and charts in a corporate hellhole. It’s a soulless, joyless existence, which explains why so many young women like Keiko find comfort at the bottom of a bottle. Here’s to the Queens of Bad Mistakes. Cheers, ladies…
