Rejected underage drinker hires protesters to smear luxury NYC hotel with wild signs: suit

He couldn’t stomach being carded.

The teenage son of a Park Avenue doctor has been accused of launching a bizarre smear campaign against the swanky Mark Hotel — hiring protesters to wave signs accusing the business of supporting pedophile Jeffrey Epstein and “denying the Holocaust,” a new lawsuit claims.

Theodore Weintraub, 19, allegedly concocted the twisted revenge plot after he was booted from the five-star hotel for repeatedly trying to buy drinks with a fake ID, according to a suit filed last week in Manhattan Supreme Court.

The rejected underage drinker paid demonstrators to chant with wild signs outside the luxe building on East 77th Street near Fifth Avenue — even timing the demonstrations to coincide with visits from VIP guests, such as the rapper Drake, the July 27 suit alleges.

Protesters’ signs falsely declared, “The Mark Supports [Jeffrey] Epstein,” “The Mark Denies the Holocaust” and “The Mark Spreads Disease,” according to the filing from July 27.

Weintraub was also seen sitting in a parked Cadillac and smirking as the “protesters” picketed nearby, workers told  Patch.com, which first reported the suit.

“All these different chants all day … It’s the craziest thing we’ve ever had to deal with,” one worker said. “[They say] the Mark has mice, the Mark supports Epstein [and] pedophiles.”

Trouble first bubbled up when Weintraub repeatedly tried to buy drinks from the hotel’s trendy bar — where a Kaspia Martini with rye vodka costs $29 — during the summer of 2021 when he was 17, according to the suit.

Weintraub allegedly became “increasingly aggressive” about being turned away from the glamorous hotel, which has hosted celebrities such as Gigi Hadid and Angelina Jolie — and once boasted a $75,000-per-night penthouse suite.

The wannabe boozehound allegedly caused so many “commotions that the hotel flagged him as a disturbance” and banned him, the suit states.

But Weintraub soon returned for a dinner reservation with his family, including his “well-known doctor” dad, at 8 p.m. on Sept. 16, 2021, and was promptly recognized and allegedly stopped by security.

The teen first “pled for forgiveness” — and then flipped out when he was denied entry, according to the lawsuit.

“Defendant began accusing the hotel of being antisemitic and spitting in people’s food,” the filing states, adding the teen’s father eventually “quelled” his son’s outburst.

The teen’s anger appeared to fizzle until nearly two years later, in June, when Weintraub allegedly began picketing with an unnamed friend outside the hotel — while harassing guests and workers, according to the lawsuit.

He allegedly timed the “protests” to be during the hotel’s most “populated time periods,” including dinner rush, and when “VIP guests were expected to be entering or exiting” the building, the suit states.

Alex Weisenberger, who works across the street, said they were baffled when they spotted an odd, one-man protest outside the hotel in mid-July.

“I heard someone out here, like, chanting,” Weisenberger The Post Thursday. “His sign had ‘The Mark has mice’ on one side and something different on the back.

“He had a hat on and he was walking back and forth [in front of the hotel]. He was screaming,” Weisenberger said.

“It’s just not every day you see someone out by themselves protesting something that seems a little silly.”

On July 17, one protester was caught on camera chanting, “The Mark helped Epstein!” as Drake left the hotel, according to video footage.

Weintraub and his unnamed friend allegedly then tried to block the hotel from letting the rapper back inside later that night, according to the lawsuit.

“Defendants stood on the Mark Hotel’s entrance carpet and refused to move or enable the hotel to set up barricades to allow the imminent entrance of the famous guest,” the suit states, in an apparent reference to Drake.

Around that time, protesters were also heard chanting “The Mark Gropes People!” and seen targeting a hotel doorman — shouting that he’s “a Pedophile” and that his “mother is a prostitute,” according to the lawsuit.

At least one physical confrontation between Weintraub and a hotel guest also led to police being called, the suit states.

“[Weintraub’s] behavior is now a regular and malicious disturbance outside the Mark Hotel, affecting the hotel’s ability to properly service its guests,” the court papers state.

Others spotted at least six protesters picketing outside the hotel.

“They were saying the most random things,” said Claudia Oshry, co-host of the podcast “The Toast,” adding that her boyfriend witnessed the strange stunt.

“‘The Mark has mice, the Mark denies the Holocaust, the Mark supports Epstein.’ [He] was like, ‘How are these three things related?'”

On Thursday, the hotel filed a temporary restraining order barring the teen from “protesting, demonstrating, chanting, or otherwise picketing within 150 feet” of the building.

The suit alleges defamation and seeks a restraining order and unspecified damages.

Weintraub played coy when reached at his father’s Park Avenue home on the Upper East Side.

“I can’t comment now,” he said with a smirk. “The truth will come out.”

A lawyer for the hotel declined to comment to The Post.
