Big Climate Brother in the UK isn’t just watching people; he’s also breathing down their necks and reaching into their wallets. A new program that’s taken effect has many residents up in arms. It’s all part of London’s “Low Emission Zones,” and involves cameras snapping pictures of drivers as they hit the road. If you’re caught behind the wheel of a less-than-fuel-efficient car, you’ll find yourself punished by your Big Green Daddy and slapped with a hefty fine.

Wall Street Silver reports:

Cameras to control and punish motorists are being installed all over London, including in cul-de-sacs and small residential areas, causing outrage on social media.

Residents will be taxed £15 € as soon as they leave their homes if their car does not comply with the Ultra Low Emission Zone rules which come into force on August 29 across Greater London

Groups of activists calling themselves “Blade Runners” are disabling hundreds of the cameras already.

The “Blade Runner” activists have had enough of the “Green Nanny State” and are working to disable the cameras in these special “low emission zones.”

The Drive:

Activists upset over charges associated with London’s Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) are unleashing a bit of vandalism by disabling and destroying CCTV enforcement cameras all over the region.

Viral videos and images have been circulating the internet showing cameras splayed on the pavement and even protestors actively damaging the equipment as one of the U.K.’s most controversial motoring laws plans to expand its reach to an additional 5 million residents. When it does, it’ll become one of the world’s largest financially-motivated efforts to combat vehicle emissions.

For those not familiar with ULEZ cameras, here’s a crash course. Essentially, London has a 147 square-mile (380 square-kilometer) zone designated for ultra-low emissions. The goal is to reduce air pollution by charging drivers a fee—similar to a congestion charge—if their vehicle drives within the boundaries and is not designated as being compliant with strict pollution regulations.

Here’s where things get a bit complicated: There are no tollbooths or people to collect money from drivers entering or exiting the zone. Instead, Transport for London (TFL) has installed hundreds of CCTV cameras with Automatic Number Plate Recognition. These cameras read the license plates of vehicles traveling through the ULEZ and compare them against the car or truck that it is registered to in order to determine if the vehicle in question is compliant with the emissions limits of the zone. If it isn’t, the driver is assessed a $15.88 (12.50 gbp) fee each day they drive. Should they fail to pay it, they will be charged a $228.71 (180 gbp) fine.

And before you get too complacent or smug, America, this is likely coming to a liberal-run sh*thole city near you in either California or New York — or, perhaps more likely, Lahaina, Hawaii. And once there, it’ll take root and spread like an unwanted cancer to the rest of the country. This is why we must fight tirelessly to remove these globalists from power and install a legitimate United States government that will serve the people — one that she rightfully deserves.
